Are Parabens bad? I mean is all the noise about the dangers of parabens really true?

This substance is a chemical that is added to many cosmetic products to increase their shelf life. In other words a Paraben is added to shampoos, deodorants, lotions, skin creams, antiperspirants and many other products that you use on a daily basis as a preservative.
You might ask “so what’s the bid deal?”…..you see the problem with this substance is that it is easily absorbed into your blood stream whenever you use the above mentioned products. Once in your blood, parabens mimic oestrogen. In case you do not know oestrogen, it is the “female hormone” that plays a significant role in the formation of breast cancer.
This was confirmed when traces of Paraben where found in breast tumours during medical tests that were performed on breast cancer patients.
Several other medical tests have shown that some of the allergic reactions and rashes people get when they use cosmetic products are directly caused by the presence of paraben as a preservative.
With that said there are steps you can take to protect yourself. Firstly you can start using products that contain natural preservatives like grapefruit seed extract, vitamin C, vitamin E and vitamin A.
Secondly you can engage in an all natural skin care regime to avoid all the dangers of parabens.
