Cellulite is the expression used to describe pockets of fat which are trapped and cause dimpling in the skin. This dimpling is irregular and patchy and has been identified with orange peel.
"Cellulite" is not a medical term. Medical authorities agree that cellulite is simply ordinary fatty tissue. Strands of fibrous tissue connect the skin to deeper tissue layers and also separate compartments that contain fat cells. When fat cells increase in size, these compartments bulge and produce a waffled appearance of the skin. Many years ago, conducted a double-blind study of 100 people to see whether cellulite differed from ordinary fat. Specimens of regular fat and lumpy fat were obtained by a needle biopsy procedure and given to pathologists for analysis and comparison. No difference between the two was found.
As with any diet, you will have to exhibit some sense of control. A treat here and there won't damage your efforts, but losing control and pigging out on junk food will. Remember to eat healthy, balanced meals at least 3 time’s day. Skipping these important meals, contrary to you may think, does not help with cellulite reduction. Truth be told, it slows your metabolism down and makes you more susceptible to cellulite accumulation. Add more fruits & vegetables to your meals and even in between your daily meals. Once you eliminate fatty and sugar laden foods, you will be able to get rid of cellulite more easily.
Underneath the dermis and epidermis are three specific layers of fat. Cellulite tends to develop in the subcutaneous fat layers. This layer of fat is unique in its structure compared to the other layers because its fatty parts are structured into specific chambers by strands of linked tissue around it.
Buy a moisturizer that has a sunless tanner mixed in. The moisturizer will hydrate you skin and reduce the severity of the rippling. The sunless tanner will darken you skin making your cellulite less visible. This is a great cosmetic trick to hide cellulite while you work on lowering your body fat content.
Another reason men tend to not accumulate cellulite is because they have tougher skin corium (dermis) which doesn’t allow a build up of fat to collect. Men therefore have smoother, tighter skin than women do. Another major factor is hormonal reasons.
However, there is a clear association between excess fat and cellulite. The enlarged fat cells put pressure on connective tissue which affects the skin's smoothness and tautness. To keep the layer of connective tissue between the fat cells supple, eat foods rich in bioflavonoids and vitamin C.
After your anti-cellulite workout, hop into the sauna, or steamy bath. Both these treatments help to open up our sweat pores thereby increasing the elimination of toxins.
When it comes to the effects of diet and exercise on your cellulite, the jury is still out. Many people believe that because cellulite is not like "normal" fat, you cannot get rid of it with "normal" fat burning exercises. One thing is certain though. With diet and exercise, you can prevent the accumulation of more cellulite.
