Japanese hair straightening is a permanent hair straightening method that uses thermal reconditioning for straightening human hair. This method is also called as rebonding. Japanese hair straightening uses chemicals like Liscio, Yuko and Bio Ions. Different hair stylists use different types of chemicals depending on the availability. Japanese hair straightening involves disassociation and formation of sulfur bonds. Initially, a protein based chemical will be applied which will be rinsed after some period of time. The hair will be blow dried and your stylist will build up tension in the hair for straightening it. Later, chemical neutralizer will be applied for encouraging formation of sulfur bonds. The hair will then be rinsed, dried and ironed to complete straightening process. After taking Japanese hair straightening, you should not use any shampoo for 6 days and then you can treat your hair normally.

The downside of the treatment is the use of artificial chemicals that has raised an alarm among people who prefer hair straightening. As always, chemicals are not suitable for a long period of time. This Japanese hair straightening is expensive too and top salons charge $800 for treatment. You also have to spend for touch ups because without that, you cannot maintain straight hair.
