When it comes to beauty and fashion, there are really no hard and fast rules. What may be beautiful during the time of your mom may no longer be beautiful or fashionable at present. Besides, you will definitely look old if you hold on to the beauty tenets from decades ago.In order to update your look, you need to read new beauty magazines. These reading materials will surely guide you on what is in and what is not. Here are some old rules that beauty gurus are now starting to break:
Old Rule # 1. The Best Place To Spray Your Scent Is At The Back Of Your Ears
According to new scent experts, the best place to apply on your cologne or perfume is on your body's center. This will help make you smell appealing without becoming overpowering. Thus, instead of spraying behind your ears, you might want to put on your fragrance between your breasts or on your collarbone. The heat of your body will make the scent warm so it will last longer. If you have long hair, you may also want to spray some fragrance on your hair.
Old Rule # 2. Conditioner Is A No-no For Those With Oily Hai
rA lot of people with oily hair think that they do not need to condition their hair because they have ample oil to keep their hair bouncy and beautiful. However, it is important to note that oil is usually concentrated on the scalp. So you can have dry ends even if you have oily hair. What you can do, if you have oily hair, is to use an oil-free conditioner.
Old Rule # 3. Women With Red Hair Should Not Wear Red Lips
There was a time when red lipsticks only had a base of blue. So back then, women with red hair who used red lipstick appeared to have a complexion that is just too pinkish. However, nowadays, there are a lot of red shades to choose from. In fact, redheads may want to try on red lipsticks with brownish or golden tinge because these colors can improve the complexion of redheads.
Old Rule # 4. Don't Pluck Above Your Brow
It is important to stress that hair stragglers located above your eyebrows may create a shadow. This will make your brows looking unclean. For a more defined look, go ahead and do not be afraid to pluck the hair on top of your brows. In order to prevent committing mistakes, you can put on a white makeup on your groomed eyebrows. All hair that sticks out of the white makeup can be removed and tweezed.
Old Rule # 6. Say Absolutely No To Blue Eyeshadow
Bright blue eye shadow became popular during the 80's. As a result, women who used to paint their eyes with this color looked old and dated. However, blue is making a comeback. In order to make your look fresh and updated, try blue shadows with smoky or silvery hues. However, do not go overboard. Make sure that your look is still soft.
However, if you have eye bags or skin discoloration under the eyes, your blue eye shadow might give you a black-eye look. To help prevent eye bags and raccoon eyes, you may want to use an all-natural eye cream, such as Eyevive. Visit http://www.eyevive.com/ for more details.
