Paraben Free Skin Care Cosmetic Products-Safer Skin Care

Paraben free skin care cosmetic products are a wise choice for many reasons.  Read this article to find out why paraben free skin products are a safer and better choice.  First, what is a paraben?

Parabens - What is a Paraben?

Paraben  is what the industry calls preservatives, better yet synthetic preservatives.  Their purpose is just that preserve or extend the shelf life of the skin care product.  The reason is the longer something sits around it is subject to spoiling.

Parabens have many names and come in various forms.  A few names: butylparaben, isoparaben, methlyparaben, and so forth.  Look at the label, if it says paraben, pass on it.  What is the problem with parabens?  Why should your skin care be paraben free?  Keep reading, the light gets brighter.

One big reason to not use parabens because they have been found in breast cancer patients. The verdict isn't in yet, but parabens are under extreme suspicion.  Do not associate with them.  Another good reason not to use them is they are NOT necessary to use as a preservative.  There is a better way.

Synthetic ingredients such as paraben are not the only way to preserve skin care products.  There are natural ingredients that can do the same job and be absolutely safe.  Why man ever thought synthetic would ever replace natural is almost insane.

Parabens - Are They Dangerous?

The biggest most important reason parabens could be a problem involves your very health, maybe your life.  Parabens have been found in breast cancer patients. So far there is  no real proof  that makes the connection that parabens cause or contribute to cancer but they are under serious suspicion.  Don't wait until the jury comes back with the verdict.  Parabens have been found at the scene of the crime so caution is due. Also parabens are not necessary in skin care products as a preservative.

Here are some steps you can take BEFORE you buy a product.

1.  If you are in a store, you can just read the label.
I suggest very strongly to not buy any over the counter skin care products, especially in expensive high end department stores.  They may not tell if  parabens are in their product.  Makers of cosmetics are required to list their ingredients unless it is fragrance and that is exempt as a "trade secret."  Beware of any product that list "fragrance" as an ingredient.

2.  If you are now using a skin care product you should see if the company has a website.  If it does, do they list the ingredients?  Look for parabens and fragrances.

3.  Ask the company if they use parabens and why do they?  Ask if parabens are dangerous? (They are at least highly suspicious.)

If your cosmetic company or any company won't give you a straightforward answer, you may want to buy from some company who is responsive and responsible.   That's what I did and I found one that not only answered my questions but had a full disclosure of its ingredents plus a ton of helpful information. For more information  on parabens see the Xtend Skin Care website listed below

Paraben free products are the future trend of safe skin care. Companies will be forced by health minded customers to take the natural and safe approach in making  their products rather than the cheap and easy way.

Please note that any product that has parabens in it, is probably not in your best health interest.  Use a product from a company that has paraben free products.  And now please visit the website listed below for more details on paraben free products.
