Seasonal Makeup Tips for Autumn

Dressing the part as well as doing your makeup with natural colours helps you to blend in well with your environment and perfectly complement the earthy tones of autumn. When you wear clothing and makeup that clashes with the season, you can do a disservice to your complexion and presence. Unsuited colours can drain your skin and hair of life and make you look pasty and washed out. Even if you dislike the so called autumnal colours, you are sure to love the way you look in them during the right time of the year.

For a natural look, use browns and neutral tones. Apply a golden tone on the fixed eyelid to give a touch of light. If you want to give more strength to the eyes, make up the interior of the eye with a dark brown pencil. For a sexy look, use dark tones – the ones you like best! From marine blue to bottle green, or if you prefer, line your eyes with black or grey.

Fall has become a very popular time to get married, for good reason -- you can’t beat the crisp weather, changing leaves, and sense of back-to-school excitement in the air. There’s no better time for a fresh start, so make an appointment at the makeup counter to try new techniques and richer lip colors in shades of burgundy and plum. Add an extra coat of mascara and make your liner a little more smoky than usual. Throw out your old foundation and invest in a new one, and experiment with bronzing powder to extend your summer color. Consider highlighting your hair to add warmth to your face, and deal with dryer skin by using richer lotions and moisturizing masks.

Autumn with its hint of Indian summer and brightly colored leaves brings up thoughts of the transition that nature goes through and therefore notes like lavender and oak moss that are both earthy and warm are perfectly paired up with fruits that speak of the changing tide of the season such as apple, blackberry and blackcurrant. Autumn is the time to mellow out and seek out scents that are full-bodied and either earthy or fruity. If fruity scents are most appealing to you look for ones that are both natural and sweet. However if you go in for more earthy elements when considering a fragrance, then look for a wood perfume that is rich in oak moss.

Use shimmery eyeshadows and cheek highlighters such as Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks that come in pink to bronze shades, apply on cheek bone and over cheek area.

Cleanse face with Eve Lom Cleanser apply moisturiser from Simple Skincare Range, apply SK-II Eye Film. I use Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser then cover my dark circles using Mac Moisture Cover Concealer, add Stila Convertible Cheek Colour in Poppy, add a dusting of loose powder by Shuemura, curl lashes and apply lashings of Max Factor More Than Mascara, and a slick of Pout Lip Gloss.

Give a shine bath to your hair with a dye similar to your own color, to give shine without changing the color. Consult your hairdresser about transparent color baths that give shine and moisture in a natural way. This season makeup will be a complement to your image, so we’re going to explain, step by step, the flattering and easy-to-use trends so that you are gorgeous and up-to-date on the latest!
