Acne has many names; pimples, blemishes, rashes, spots – all these terms are frequently used to refer acne. Scientifically acne lesions are called acne vulgaris. Whatever name you give it, the lesions are painful, embarrassing, ugly and common among the teens.
Hormonal changes in human body that takes place during adolescence triggers on acne problems. However, a lot of men and women suffer from pimples till late 20’s. And the ugly acne scars stay on skin for long.
People often worsen the pimples by picking them. This is a big No No. Never pick pimples even when the lesions are dry and appear to have been cured. This is a very bad habit. By picking pimples you just deepen the acne scars and confirm that they stay on your face forever. Such scars turn in to brown stains in the long run and look like pigmentation problem.
Though most of the people suffer from facial acne, the fact is it can appear on chest, shoulders and back as well. And if you grow the bad habit of picking pimples, you may end up having brown stains on the upper part of your chest and back as well.
The good news is: these brown stains are sticky, but not irremovable. You should collect right acne information from reliable sources such as reputed dermatologists, skin care websites, podcasts and videos.
Skin care for Acne:
1] Hydration is essential. Make sure you drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. This prevents the dead skin cells to clog the sebaceous gland and minimizes the chances of acne breakouts. Acne scars also become faded if the skin is hydrated properly. So drink lots of water; make it a habit.
2] A healthy diet often helps to get rid of acne scars. You need to figure out a balanced diet for yourself – diet depends on your age, health condition and local climate. Consult a doctor to know what type of diet would be right for you.
3] According to some dermatologists Vitamin E helps in skin cell renewal; hence one should take Vitamin E capsules prescribed by a dermatologist to remove acne scars. Some oils, full with Vitamin E, are also available in market. These oils can be applied on and around the spot.
4] Mix sandal wood paste with rose water and apply it on acne scars. Do it before going to bed; let the potion get dried on skin – peel it off next day. This mixture prevents acne breakouts too.
Apart from these, a lot of medicines, lotions and creams are available in the market to remove acne scars. It is recommended to visit a skin doctor to know what type of medication would be right for your skin.
