The latest news in anti wrinkle skin care creams is an ingredient called Functional Keratin. You won't find it listed as an ingredient in the major brands of wrinkle remover cream, at least not yet, but it's always best to avoid those big brand names, anyway.
They spend too much money on advertising and not enough on high quality ingredients. They use cheap ingredients like petrolatum and mineral oils, so that they can put more profits in their pockets.
Practically every wrinkle skin care solution on the market contains artificial preservatives and added fragrances. Even though, those are the two most likely causes of allergic reactions. Many of them are toxic to the central nervous system and the organs of the body.
There is much debate about the use of artificial preservatives; in particular, researchers question the safety of parabens. It's really hard to find a wrinkle remover cream that does not contain at least one paraben preservative. Many products contain three or more different parabens.
There is no need to include all of these artificial preservatives in this type of cream and I have no idea why cosmetic companies continue the practice. But, at least there are many paraben-free products entering the market. I'm sure that more will follow soon. But, let me get back to Functional Keratin.
Keratin is a protein found all over the human body. It is a major component of healthy skin cells. Along with collagen and hyaluronic acid, the protein is responsible for the skin's strength and elasticity.
Manufacturers have tried for many years to find a way to make keratin water soluble and include it in skincare creams, without rendering the protein "inactive" and unavailable for use by the cells. Now, the KERATEC Company has found a way to isolate keratin from sheep's wool and use patented processes to make it soluble, yet still fully useful.
They called their compound "Functional" Keratin, because the peptide protein remains fully "functional". The skin's cells can use it to create new fibers and stronger collagen. Wrinkle skin care cream containing the ingredient has been shown to increase skin-cell proliferation by as much as 160% after only three days of use.
It's quite unique when compared to other creams, because you can "see" an immediate change. The composition of the solution is similar to "liquid skin". It actually "fills" in wrinkles and refracts light, just slightly.
So, the use of these skin care products containing the new compound will make your face look smoother than it actually is. While providing this immediate benefit, the other components in the wrinkle remover cream are working to make long term changes.
In clinical studies, researchers have shown sustained improvement in the skin's elasticity of 42% over 18 days. There's a 22% improvement in only 24 hours. In other words, the more you use it, the better you'll look.
That's how wrinkle skin care should be. It's too bad that the major companies don't agree. Look for products that contain Functional Keratin and avoid those nasty parabens.
