Are you sick and tired of trying numerous skincare products that advertise to be the best dry skin therapy product out on the market that helps moisturize and treat dry skin? Well, if you're like me you don't believe everything you see on television.
Suffering from this problem myself, I began researching the reason why we get dry skin; but, I also wanted to find some remedies that would help with the situation.
When I began my research, I discovered that dry skin is part of the aging process. Depressing but reality, but I pressed on to find that the aging process actually starts in our 20s!
I also found out that our production of collagen slows down, elastin looses its spring, dead skin cells don't shed very fast and to top that off our re-growth of new skin cells decreases slightly leading to wrinkles, fine lines and sagging skin. Hang on though, I did uncover a skin therapy that made sense.
To help treat the dryness, a few effective skin remedies to research and use are:
1. Diet -- check and make sure you/re getting the recommended dosage of vitamins and essential fatty acids in your diet. For instance: Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), helps maintain healthy skin. Vitamin B5 (D-Pantothenate), helps reduce signs of aging. And, Vitamin E.
Essential fatty acids (ETAs) are also extremely beneficial when it comes to taking care of your skin health. You can get omega-3 from eating fish, lamb and nuts (at least twice a week) or from a quality fish oil supplement. What makes this part of remedies? Disorders (such as psoriasis) have been shown to improve from fish oils plus fish oil improves the health of skin!
2. Hydration -- drink your water, at least 4-6 cups a day.
3. Chemicals -- avoid using skincare products which contain unhealthy, toxic and synthetic chemicals. Products that contain ingredients like: "alcohol" because it dries out the skin or "mineral oil" that interferes with normal perspiration.
The most effective therapy is simply skincare products that contain natural effective ingredients such as:
Grapeseed Oil -- rich in linoleic acid and several other essential oils, and it contains natural vitamin E.
Jojoba Oil -- an effective moisturizer and softener for the skin.
Macadamia Oil -- an oil that contains a high amount of palmitoleic acid making it an effective anti-oxidant.
