Wrinkle Reduction Advice – Vital Things You Must Know to Rejuvenate Your Skin

By the time you finish reading this, I guarantee you will have a better idea of how to reduce wrinkles and avoid causing new ones. But, if you want to know my best wrinkle reduction advice right now, I'll say this: watch your diet and avoid too much sun!

First of all, I'd like you to understand the difference between fine lines and wrinkles.

Strictly speaking, fine lines are the visible signs of aging we would love to eliminate. They are an indication of the accumulated damage over the years of too much sun, poor diet, pollutants and smoking.

Wrinkles, on the other hand, are the deeper creases that form where our skin moves when we laugh, smile or frown. These are the facial marks that give us our character and display our personality and, unless you never move your face at all, you will get these creases.

But people generally refer to all lines on their face as wrinkles.

So what wrinkle reduction advice can I give you?

My number one piece of wrinkle reduction advice is to watch your diet. Nourish your skin from the inside first because nothing you apply on the outside will do much good if your diet is not pushing through good nutrients to provide a great foundation for your skin.

Look for foods that are high in antioxidants, such as spinach, berry fruits (for example, blueberries) and carrots. You'll also need minerals such as zinc from seafood and beef, and selenium from fish, chicken and nuts.

Next gem of wrinkle reduction advice: avoid getting too much sun. We need adequate supplies of sunlight to create vitamin D in the body for bone health but it only take as little as 10 minutes a day for most people to get enough sun to produce their daily vitamin D requirement. Too much sun, on the other hand, allows ultraviolet rays to penetrate far into the skin's layers, breaking down the elastin that helps to keep the skin taut and resulting in lines and sagging.

Too much sun will also cause age spots, freckles and other unwanted pigmentation, all of which tend to make the complexion appear aged.

Smoking, and the pollutants and toxins we find in any city from cars and factories, encourage the formation of free radicals that break down the collagen and elastin in your skin. As these two important proteins are damaged, your skin responds with lines, wrinkles and sagging. Smoking and pollutants also cause the complexion to look dull and lifeless.

The final point in my wrinkle reduction advice: choose a high quality moisturizer. You need to protect your face from further damage from outside forces such as the sun and pollutants and repair the daily damage. Even if you eat an excellent diet, avoid the sun and don't smoke, you'll still need to protect and nourish your complexion from the outside.

A good quality moisturizer can help your body's own collagen and elastin to regrow, reducing lines and sagging, and can repair the visible damage caused by free radicals.
