You May Ask, is There a Home Remedy for Wrinkles?

Is there a home remedy for wrinkles? Sure, practically every ethnic group has something that they used as a homemade wrinkle smoother. We are not the first generations to be concerned about the signs of aging.

A home remedy for wrinkles can be found in the tombs of ancient kings. Great-great grandmother probably used something. “What” she used would depend on where she lived and what she had available.

In Japan, for example, they used a homemade wrinkle smoother that was made by crushing wakame kelp, a variety of seaweed that grows wild in the Sea of Japan. Today, it is cultivated as a food source and also for use in some of the better anti-aging creams.

North American natives crushed jojoba seeds to make a home remedy for wrinkles, as well as to help heal skin injuries. In South America, they used the fruit of the Babassu palm tree to make a butter that was used as a homemade wrinkle smoother and also to help relieve sunburns. They also used avocado and passion fruit.

Grape seed and olive oils were commonly used in Europe. Honey has been used throughout the world for thousands of years as a homemade wrinkle smoother and to treat many other health conditions, inside and outside the body. In parts of Africa, they used the seeds from the Shea fruit and that’s where we get Shea butter.

I could go on, listing people from all over the world, but here’s the point. Practically, every home remedy for wrinkles has been scientifically evaluated for effectiveness. We know which ones work and why. It all has to do with the nutritional components that they contain.

Today, we also know the root causes of wrinkling, sagging and the other signs of aging. We also know how to address those issues or at least the best companies do. You could try to “cook something up” at home, but if you want something truly effective, leave it to the experts.

I’m not talking about the major cosmetic companies; they’ve been pulling our legs for years. None of the compounds that they currently use are effective. They don’t address the “cause” of the problem.

Dermatologists agree that the cause of wrinkling and sagging is increased free radical production and the damage that free radicals do to the skin’s cells and collagen fibers. The cells produce free radicals in response to UV radiation from the sun, exposure to environmental pollutants, such as smoke, and due to exposure to other toxins. Some of which are found in our health and beauty aids.

If you are a “purist”, you may want to make your own homemade wrinkle smoother. But, most of us simply don’t have the time. We want something safe and natural, but we aren’t about to spend hours in the kitchen, trying to include all of the components in the remedies mentioned here.

It might not be your idea of a home remedy for wrinkles, but the products that I use contain extracts from all of the botanicals mentioned here. And, I’m happy with that.
