It is a known fact that caffeine can increase nervousness and anxiety, which can also contribute to the symptoms of RLS. Tobacco and alcohol also worsens these symptoms.
Take on Whole Food Vitamins: Vitamins and minerals are important for our health and nutrition, yes. But what you may not know is that a multivitamin tablet from a drugstore is not as effective as real food of whole food vitamins. Eating and drinking healthy food filled with vitamins and minerals are better in getting those needed nutrients into the body than just taking a pill. Take care to avoid food with high sugar, so as to reduce symptoms of low blood sugar. Foods high in protein is recommended, such as grains, nuts, fish, and fresh fruits and vegetables.
Alternative Medicine: Pelvic instability may contribute to RLS. Seeing a chiropractor and doing exercises for the pelvic area may be helpful. Walking and leg stretching are also exercises worthy to battle RLS. Aside from chiropractics, acupuncture is also suggested. Acupuncture helps in reducing RLS symptoms by stimulating or turning down certain nerves.
Bioidentical Hormones Replacement Therapy (BHRT): BHRT is not supported by medical evidence but it is generally prescribed to relieve the symptoms of menopause, and, in recent years, to defer diseases of aging. As RLS tends to increase with age, BHRT is another alternative that many RLS experts are looking at.
Homeopathy: Homeopathy is another alternative that is not supported by medical evidence but is said to often help relieve Restless Leg Syndrome. It is important that an expert homeopath be consulted to ensure that nothing goes wrong with the process.
Alternative natural cures for Restless Leg Syndrome are important aspects to consider, especially since conventional medicine is not yet available for RLS. RLS is also still being studied, as is its cures. This implies that alternative and natural cures, which helps the body to heal on its own, is presently the best shot for those suffering from Restless Leg Syndrome.
