Sleep Better with Binaural Beats – What Binaural Beats are and How They Can Help You Sleep Better

Binaural Beats were discovered 170 years ago by scientist, Heinrich Wilhelm Dove and are used today outside the world of science mainly to influence the brain to produce states of relaxation, meditation, pain relief and better sleep. They are harmless, gentle, pleasant to use and some are designed specifically to help you sleep better.

What exactly are they and how are they produced?

Binaural Beats are produced in the brain when two tones of slightly different frequencies are presented separately to the listener's ears. A beating tone is perceived by the brain from the mixture of the two tones. They are usually created in Mp3 format and listened to using stereo headphones.

Brain Entrainment

Binaural Beats are used for what is called brain entrainment which is commonly used to induce states of relaxation, meditation and restful sleep. Brainwave entrainment has also been proven to help people suffering from stress, pain, headaches and migraines, PMS and cognitive functioning deficits. For brainwave entrainment to occur, the tones are mixed together resulting in a pulse. The pulses, called "beats" formed by the mixed tones cause the entrainment. The frequencies at which the beats occur determine the effect on the brain. Higher entrainment frequencies can increase one's alertness, whereas lower frequencies can cause deep relaxation and sleep. In this case, binaural beats adjust the brain's frequencies to promote healthy sleeping patterns.

Safety

Binaural Beats recordings are safe for repeated use and are not addictive. Simply listen to them through stereo headphones to learn how powerful they are as an aid to help you relax. Binaural Beats are a truly amazing and effective means of naturally altering brain waves without side effects such as those encountered with the use sleep aid drugs.

Sleep Better

Listening to an Mp3 recording containing binaural beats can quickly and easily adjust your brain's frequencies to levels which will help guide you into a deep sleep. Some recordings are designed specifically to enable you to sleep better. Combining a comfortable mattress with the use of binaural beats can give you better and more restful sleep which can help to alleviate stress, anxiety and depression. Many people find it difficult to fall asleep and I count myself among that group. I have tried medications but do not like the side-effects. However, after a number of sessions with binaural beats recordings, you may discover, as did I, that you require less sleep and have a general sense of well-being.
