Advances in medicine and food safety are helping people live longer. But it is creating a problem for many seniors who think that they have lived too long. Most are trying to find ways to adjust to the demands of old age. Others are finding the task almost impossible. The hippie generation is now starting to reach old age and the number of elderly people will double in the next twenty years. Senior care facilities are being built all around the country to take advantage of this boom. With the millions that will require caretaking there has never been a better time to build a small senior care business. Not only will it take care of elderly people, it can also give care to young adults that have physical or mental problems.

A medium sized living room and kitchen is one of the things a entrepreneur will need to get into this money making business. Having a van with a back lift is necessary because many of the customers will be in wheelchairs. They will be spending the whole day at your home so preparing a light lunch for them is important. The rest of your expenses will be minor. Five customers should give you a net income of seven thousand dollars a month. That is a great income for a small investment.

Getting your first few customers will be your biggest hurdle. Placing an ad in a local newspaper will get you started before word of mouth spreads. Your neighbors will soon know about your new service and some of them will be your customers. Be friendly with the surgical supply store owners and let them know that you are in the home care business. They will get you seniors that need home care in exchange for buying their products. In a short time you will be busy building up your bank account. You will deserve it as the owner of a successful home care business.

Most of your customers will require medication. Consulting with their families about their medical needs will solve that problem. Any emergency that arises can be easily handled by calling for an ambulance. The rest of your work will be making sure that they are all comfortable.

The success of your business will not only be based on the cost saving advantages of using your service instead of a home aid. It will also be based on the good care that is provided. Giving your customers the personalized attention that they deserve is sure to make your business well known and profitable.
