A successful entrepreneur has launched a series of video podcasts on the internet this week in a bid to bring advice for small business owners into the 21st century.
Business guru Guy Kingston has made the move to help other entrepreneurs learn from his experience and the experience of others that he is showcasing in the Mind Your Own Business video podcasts, which are available on YouTube and iTunes.
A former London stock broker Guy moved to Moscow and set up PXPost in 1992, one of the first successful private businesses in post-communistRussia.
Said Kingston: “Every day entrepreneurs are getting advice from bank managers, accountants and lawyers, but this gives them an opportunity to learn first hand from those who have actually been along the road before.”
Entrepreneurs will be able to view short films where fellow small business owners talk about how they have succeeded – or struggled – in particular areas of their business life.
The video podcasts can also be viewed on the Mind Your Own Business website www.myobpod.com which has been broadcasting audio podcast advice from Guy Kingston and businessman and writer John Richards since 2005.
Listeners are able to e-mail their questions and problems to the website to get advice.
Guy Kingston said: “Being an entrepreneur can be pretty lonely at times and we aim through the audio and video podcasts and related facebook group to build acommunity of people who want to provide some help for those who are in business.
“When I built my business in Moscow in the 1990s it was probably the most hostile place on earth for entrepreneurs and the lessons learned there are forming part of this service.
“We are not accepting any advertising or sponsorship so the advice and help iscompletely unbiased and untainted by having to serve any other masters. Later this year we will be selling a series of videos called Millionaire Masterclass that will help people every step along the road from having a business idea to enjoying the wealth it creates.”
The Mind Your Own Business video podcasts are available throughout the world and have beendesigned to provide sound advice whether people are setting up a business in Europe, the USA or Africa .
