Find address from phone numbers- Build new client retention for your boutique business

I was at my favorite  boutique spa last week and was having a wonderful chat with the owner about  the business and current economy. While we were talking, this idea to help enhance  her new client business popped up!

The owner was telling me about the problem of increasing the retention of new clients.  She mentioned that as best as all the staff  tries to have new clients  fill out the client cards accurately, her shop  was always So Busy  that this detail often didn't  happen the way it was designed for.


According to the owner, nearly one third of her business comes from new customers which need to be converted into repeat business!  With wrong addresses information, she was finding that too many of those mailers were coming back stamped "Wrong Address".

She needed to improve her system of capturing accurate records for promotional follow-up.
This is especially critical during those peak business periods like Prom & Wedding season,Valentines, Christmas and News Years. Anticipating those windows of opportunity, because she has her customers’ information saved, her staff  would send out lots of notes and e-mails, with friendly reminders to the clients for schedule early for their hair-do’s and color etc...  Then again about a week or so before New Years for example, they would sends out little reminders to the clients who have booked time slots for hair, nails,  make-up and massage.


Where this becomes problematic is when they were  getting prepared to mail promotions, reminder cards & emails.  
They often discovered that they are missing an address,or it wasn't accurate  or the current telephone on file was wrong! And the email addresses!  Ahh... Sometimes they couldn't even read the e-address properly.   Who can!!!   So many email variations possible. Finally they could loss client information because the client cards are hand written  and not  everybody has legible handwriting!

It was clear to me this person was a established business person in the beauty industry, and really got  that her customers’ loyalty was EVERYTHING. Especially with current market conditions.

So what is the idea to help enhance this spa business?

A couple things.  First of all, I suggested that she  create a client database.  She was already on top of that!  Secondly, I suggested she subscribe to a reverse phone directory online.  ??

I mentioned she can find addresses from phone numbers using a reverse phone directory very easily and quickly.  More over, she would save money from the 411 calls and time trying to locate accurate information from phone books. With those two factors alone, she would more than easily pay for the yearly subscription which is typically around $40.

She kind of lifted her beautifully shaped eyebrow about this and asked me to elaborate.
I mentioned that with these services the databases have access to millions of records.  Additionally, she would be able to access even more detailed information about the individual if she wanted.  Additional features for a fee often include expanded people search and investigations.

I told her she go give it a try if she liked by checking some directories out Now! It is so easy. Especially since the holiday season is right around the corner. So now by typing in a customer’s telephone number via an online reverse telephone directory , this very smart business proprietor easily captures lost client data that she needs for staying in touch with them—address, e-mail, cell phone, home phone, the works. And as this business women put it ,when she stays in touch with the her clients, the clients keep coming back to her spa oasis. They just need a little reminder!
