The process of installing artificial grass is actually easy, the tools that you need are very common and they can be obtained at any hardware stores. As long as the surface is stable, artificial grass can be applied on any surfaces like wooded, concrete etc, if you got natural grass already, then cap all the sprinkler heads; dig around every sprinkler to remove the head and the caps with the help of a sod cutter, also separate the root level of the natural grasses. Now measure the area to determine the final shape of the lawn. Using the marking paint mark the appropriate area. Frame the area and install the sticks, use 292 flexible plastic boards. Crushed down or decomposed granite are usually recommended. Spread down or the crushed down granite around the installation area, using the play compactor start compacting the outside perimeter about three to four times. This will create a hard base to artificial turf to lie over. The weed barrier lies on top; this prevents weeds from growing up, this is one of the great benefits of synthetic grass where there is little to no maintenance.
Measure your area before making any cuts on the artificial turf. Start with the largest area first, this will help when deciding where to place the material, give a final measurement before you cut the grass. Now you are ready to cut the edges on each side, always try to cut from the back instead over the turf, when you cut from the top you will end up with cutting some of the grass. The artificial grass blades are important because this will help to hide if any imperfections if you have accidentally done. Make sure your blade is clean with a sharp edge, using a straight edge place your blade on top and hold very still so it doesn’t move. A straight edge is helpful and necessary because it will be very difficult to cut straight without it.
Be careful when you staple the turf, spread the grass apart and hammer lightly. The staples will be 6 inches on center and as you drive the staple it might hit the rock underneath, if it happens find a new place for the staple because the rocks will bend the staple. As you are stapling keep checking the turf to make sure no straight fibers or yarn or anything else is left before you place the final staple. It is also important to make sure that there is no overlapping. Once you have done with nailing and stapling, use the power brush to brush off the artificial grass against the grain to make them standup and look attractive. Carefully spreading the infill which will help the grasses to stand vertical and this infill is a combination of sand and rubber.
