Is T1 Long Distance Right for Your Business?

The T1 technology is a better communication tool as it is based on digitization of voice and data over what we call now-a-days the Plain Old Telephone System or POTS. The POTS is dependent on analog conversion and re-conversion of the same.

The new communication system is 60 times faster the the conventional phone system because it uses digitized traffic and fiber optic cables.

The new system is capable of handling a high volume of traffic, which is another advantage over the old analog system. A single T1 line can support 24 simultaneous communications unlike the old system which can only accommodate one communication exchange.

The T1 is not restricted to any specific telephone. The channels are considered as a pool and whenever there is a requirement, a particular channel gets busy. The moment this channel is free it reverts back to the pool and can be used by another user in the system. The T1, therefore, can serve between 100 and 150 users who do not have to wait for an available line.

The fast-paced world of business and commerce requires speed and flexibility that communication system should be able to cope with the demand.

With the T1 long distance service, phone callers can be directly connected to the long distance service provider without passing through the local telephone provider. Long distance phone calls using long distance dedicated T1 services are also usually toll free so the caller does not have to pay for the service. The receiver will billed based on a monthly subscription that is dependent on how often the service is used.

The installation of the new system takes time and the monthly usage charges are more costly. But this service remains as the choice communications by many business establishments.

On the other hand, phone rates are going down because of stiff competition among long distance communication service providers. Consumers are advised to get as much concession as they can from the service provider to make sure that every dollar they spent is worth it.

Many service providers claim that out of 100 hours of usage, the client is able to use the system for 99.99 hours without interruption. This is equivalent to 99.99 percent availability rate. Check your contract for a punitive clause to protect yourself in instances that the service fails. This will also keep the level of efficiency high.

There telecom consultants that are available on the Internet and they would claim that they could provide the service and the company that would be able to offer options that would fit your needs. After this, they would negotiate for the best rates possible. Aside from that, they would also claim to be able to reduce your telecom bills after filtering through schemes and providers available.

You can call these consultants so you can verify with them whether they indeed can provide the information that you need.
