North Carolina Manufacturing Expo in Greensboro in Just One Month

Engineers and buyers attending an AmCon Contract Manufacturing Expo can find one or multiple sources to take a project from concept or prototype to finished product quickly and at competitive prices. OEMs can find sources for engineering, design, prototypes, forming, fabricating, machining, finishing, assembly and electronic manufacturing services all under one roof. Whether looking for one part or production runs, attendees find multiple sources from which to choose.

The benefits of attending a regional AmCon show are significant. The AmCon North Carolina Contract Manufacturing Expo will be held in Greensboro, North Carolina on November 18-19, 2008 at the Greensboro Coliseum.  Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point, make up North Carolina’s Piedmont Triad. That area of North Carolina is home to a diverse group of manufacturers, including industrial machinery and equipment, automotive, aerospace, medical, and electronics.   According to Kati Olson, President, “AmCon is the only show in the Piedmont Triad where job shops and contract manufacturers can meet face-to-face with serious OEM buyers of custom manufacturing services from the region.”

Major manufacturers in the region include RFMD, Hayward Pool Products, Freightliner, Gilbarco Veeder-Root, Siemens Power Generation, Penn Engineering, BE Aerospace, Wilson-Cook Medical, Eveready Battery, Arrow International, Technimark, Cooper Tire & Rubber, Honda Aircraft, Engineered Controls, Mickey Truck Bodies, Deere-Hitachi, Johnson Controls Battery, Duracell, Diebold, Proctor & Gamble, General Dynamics Adv. Info. Sys., GNK Driveline, A O Smith, General Electric, McRae Industries, Metzeler Automation, Pentair Water Pool & Spa, Santronics, Magneti Marelli Powertrain, Static Control Components, Meon, Honda Power Equipment, Atrium Companies, Konica Minolta, Pass & Seymour, Tyco Electronics, Volvo Group, Environmental Air Systems, EMC Corp., and Analog Devices.

AmCon offers attendees a unique opportunity to investigate a variety of manufacturing options, both new and traditional, and find the best processes and materials for specific applications. Attendees view actual samples of products that have been produced for other OEMs in their industry and can get quotes on current projects and compare quality, pricing, and lead times from multiple vendors all in a few hours. Only AmCon shows provide a “hands on” one-on-one education. Since the exhibits are staffed with top management and technical personnel, attendees have an in-depth discussion regarding project design, materials and production issues. AmCon shows are free, including seminars on a variety of manufacturing processes and quality issues.   To register for the North Carolina event go to: www.AmConshows.com.

By: Don Todrin | 04/12/2009
Many franchise businesses are getting very hard hit by this recession. One reason is the very nature of the franchise equation, you pay royalties based on gross revenue not net profit, thus even when your revenues decline and your profit disappears your fees are a percentage of your gross, possibly forcing you deeper into losses that cannot be sustained. It is a built in time bomb waiting to explode, and they are exploding all over the country in every manor of franchise business.

By: Kenneth Kaufman | 03/12/2009
I have had a lot of conversations recently about staffing the accounting and finance function in the company. As companies grow and shrink, their needs in this area change. We certainly do not want to be over-staffed, and we also want the most cost-effective staff doing as much of the work as possible.
