In the midst of a grand ceremony that was witnessed by approximately 80,000 spectators and was attended by large numbers of journalists from around the world, the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo was formally presented before the Real Madrid, and will now be part of the forwards of the white team for the next six seasons. After one of the most expensive trades in the history of football took place between Manchester United and Real Madrid, which was worth 94 million Euros, Ronaldo became, along with Kaká, one of the new and well recognized international players that the president of the team, Florentino Perez, has hired to create a new galactic team, such as that one they had with Zidane, Beckham, Luis Figo, Roberto Carlos and the rest of the players who formed the outstanding squad that gave great victories the “merengues” in the early 2000s. Wearing the white uniform with the # 9 on his back, Ronaldo entered the Santiago Bernabeu stadium as the crowd shouted his name and chattered in joy every time the Portuguese pronounced some words. Just a few weeks from starting the season 2009/10 of Spanish Football League, the excitement that the Real Madrid fans are experiencing to see Cristiano Ronaldo showing his great talent on the field, increases the expectations of the team’s directors. They trust that the star will be the one to lead the team again into the path of the victory. Being such a great footballer, so well known and highly recognized in the world are factors that have earned Ronaldo awards such as the prized Ballon d’Or, FIFA World Player of the Year, UEFA Club Footballer of the Year, among many others, and this more than enough to have one of the best welcomes that has been given to a player at the Bernabeu stadium. With great excitement and a big smile on his face, Cristiano Ronaldo, who could barely speak due to the emotion of the moment, expressed his satisfaction and gratitude both to the spectators that crowded the stadium and his new coaching staff for giving him the opportunity to be part of a team that he has always admired and with which he had always dreamed of playing. Moved by the appreciation shown by all who attended, Cristiano Ronaldo also admitted that during the entire time he was in Manchester, the coach Alex Ferguson was a great teacher who taught him how to behave properly, to make the best decisions and many other good lessons that have helped him to become a complete player and a person with a stronger and more comprehensive vision of life. His high level of play, commitment to the team, good performance on the field and many other skills of Ronaldo, are the factors that make him worth every penny received by the Red Devils from the Real Madrid, who rather than spending a huge amount of money, are looking at this as a great investment that can greatly benefit them. Ronaldo will be now wearing a CR9 jersey, number that he inherited from Javier Saviola after he left for Benfica. The Portuguese is preparing himself to start the next season in the best way, along with Kaká, Raúl Albiol and Karim Benzema, who are part of a strategic group of contracts being made by Perez to give a new winner vision to the team.

One player on his own can’t do it; it’s up to the whole team to organise itself and have a collective awareness. We’re still in the preseason and adapting to the coach’s ideas.
