The Doldrums And Success Again
By 1964, the Giants had hit a rough patch. Despite good sales of New York Giants tickets, the team seemed to be caught in a rut and until 1978, they were only able to bring in two winning seasons. The team hit an all-time low in another piece of NFL folklore known as the Miracle at the Meadowlands. The Giants were about to win a game against the Eagles and only needed to kneel the ball. Instead, the Giants called a running play which resulted in a fumble and an unexpected win for the Eagles.
The Giants were only able to find their footing again in 1979 and the rejuvenation in play was reflected in rejuvenation in the sales of New York Giants tickets. Despite having a few strike-marred seasons, the Giants were able to improve their game tremendously. In 1988, scandal struck the team when one of their players, Lawrence Taylor was suspended for cocaine abuse. Despite this setback, the Giants were able to finish 10-6.
The new millennium has seen the Giants enter the playoffs a number of times though they haven't been able to make a Super Bowl win since 1990. Still, they have managed to keep up their sales of New York Giants tickets, mainly due to their strong fan base. The Giants are well known for having what many see as a split fan base, as some of them believe that the Giants belong to the New York metropolitan area while the others believe the Giants belong to New Jersey.
