Its Time to Embrace Green it

Green IT means efficient and professional use of computer resources. The main goal of Green IT is to reduce the use of harmful products while maximizing the efficiency of the system.

The concept of Green IT starts with the production and ends when you got the final system. It means this concept should be applied throughout the working of the organization.

Even the government is aware about this concept and panning to proposed new regulations which would work towards certifying data centers as green. There are many reasons for promoting green IT. Some of them are as following:-

Mode of saving Money:-Using idea of Green IT is a good approach to save money. Because, in that case the organization will use less energy and less energy consumption is directly proportional to lower electricity bills which results  to money saving. Study shows that consumers are buying more of environmental products this year as compare to previous years. 

About 7 in 10 consumers say they are still willing to spend up to 20 percent more for "green" sustainable products. Individual comments suggested that short-term savings would have long-term costs to their family's health and the environment.

Fortunately, there are cost-saving technologies like virtualization and thin clients are there in the market. Going green is good impression: - If a company adapts environmental friendly actions like invest more in green IT systems and technology; using other environmental friendly equipments like solar heater or saves electricity in any way leaves a good impression to the clients and investors. These activities work like positive promotion of the company and their systems leads to the promotion of sales.Going green will help reduce the impact of the forthcoming energy crisis: - Energy crises refer to the situation where you have more demand of energy products while there is less production. . A recent study by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory concludes that Power demands are expected to increase by 40 percent in 2010 

In the market, new technology and energy efficiency measures become desirable for consumers seeking to cost cutting .For example

• The growth of ethanol bio fuels.

Going green is good for the environment. Another factor which is suffering due to modernization of industries is the environment. The IT industry can save our environment by keeping following points in mind:1.     Discard old computers and servers properly.2.     Do not waste printer paper

3.      Use only required amount of resources like Cds.

 This concept should be spread out in the market in such a way that developers must build up a strategy for a greener more energy-efficient operation.
