Regcure is one of the best-known commercial registry cleaners.
Why you will like it
Regcure is one of the complete registry package you will find in the market. Its features are quite impressive:
- Registry backup before any change
- Font file repair (for word processing applications)
- Dll file repair
- Routine registry maintenance etc.
- Option of reviewing entries before the utility actually delete them
- Resolving and updating application paths (that is when you have moved the location of an application and its shortcut battles to locate it).
- Uninstall entries. These are common source of headache: old registry entries that did not go away when you uninstalled the application.
These are only a few of its wide range of features. Regcure will be particularly useful to someone looking for a complete registry repair package. You hardly find more complete and comprehensive package.
Why there is better
A “Regcure sucks” Google search reveals quite an interesting history of customer frustration. It goes from “they took my money and wouldn’t let me download the utility” to “Regcure deleted even vital registry objects”.
In all fairness however, complaints about a registry cleaner deleting important registry entries are common to most registry cleaners and can be put to the fact that they are all third-party applications: they tend to get confused and remove share registry entries.
Another common complaint about Regcure is the complete absence of live support. You can always send through a support email but at $30 a download, it’s fair to expect some form of live support from the developers.
Finally, let me add that Regcure is quite pricey, especially considering that there are a couple of excellent registry cleaners available for free download online.
