SAP B1 functionality covers broad range of typical ERP topics: Financials, Banking or Bank Reconciliation, Sales and Purchases, Inventory, Bill of Materials and MRP (also referred as Production or Discrete Manufacturing), HR, Service (warranty contracts, also applicable to rental contracts), Sales Opportunity management or simply CRM which is customer relation management module. Let’s review SB1 implementation scenarios and highlights:
1. Licensing. It is traditionally all-in-one per named user, however there are variations of the term of named user itself, typically related to CRM restricted functionality: Sales and Service, plus web CRM components. All-in-one means that you pay per named user and this named user gets access to all the modules in SAB BO

2. Integrated Modules. In the case of SAP Business One modules integration is modern and natural – you should not expect batch integration between modules happening overnight, or terrible things like that. This small and medium sized businesses ERP is integrated or simply united by its nature of being programmed initially

3. Broad but Shallow ERP business logic. Here you have all the modules listed above, but you should not expect all the ERP logic to be available comparing to Microsoft Dynamics Axapta or Oracle eBusiness Suite. Again SB1 is for small business or the business that wants Small Business ERP implementation scenario

4. Initial Data Conversion. In SAP B1 you have initial balances and business partners entry functionality, where you can launch or switch you accounting to SSAP Business One

5. Business Logic Flexibility. As you could expect, SB1 does not cover all the complexity of real manufacturing or service dispatch management processes, however it is so flexible, that small business owner or ERP user may come to conclusion to utilize SB1 the way that fits or approximately imitates required business logic. Good example is Rental contracts, which could be implemented as Warranty Contracts in SAP Business One, where rented items are simply transferred to technician and at the expiration of the contract back from technician – these transfers are implemented as SB1 inventory transfers from one Warehouse to another
