In today’s IT influenced society telemarketing is the better tool for overcoming the problems the problems associated with problems of marketing by phone. Telemarketing can be extremely efficient and inexpensive if used correctly. The bad name for telemarketing comes from the consumer sector to which it doesn’t suit in our opinion. But when it comes of acquiring the business from other businesses, telemarketing is possibly the best of all marketing path.

But the basic thing which every one should know is that what does the term telemarketing exactly mean. Well when we talk about the B2B industry then Business-to-business telemarketing is essentially marketing conducted through the medium of telephone.
As we all know that "Marketing" in itself is the task of bringing a service or product or correctly said as the combination of both to the target market and creating a need for it among those whom we want as our clients. There is a misunderstanding that any outbound call can come under “telemarketing" but in reality there are other forms of telephone work which cannot be included in the concept of telemarketing.

The term telesales refers to sales, not marketing. The Client-satisfaction interviews conducted through phones are equally not specifically marketing although both activities are definitely associated to telemarketing.

It’s really very true that telemarketing should be a carefully planned activity whose strategy and tactics are spot-on. It should be effective so that telemarketers succeed and company also secures an edge over the competition.

Taking the definition in reference to B2B industry telemarketing is an act of contacting those preselected members of your intended target market either for prospecting or presentation of services/goods for the purpose of creating interest.

The telemarketing can be used in various ways in business to business to business. The main areas of utilization of these telemarketing techniques are:-

Prospecting by telemarketing regarding the target group.
Using telemarketing presentations to convert prospects
Ensuring the prospect learns the value and unique benefits of services or products for which you are taking pain.
Preparing them for a sales meeting
If desired booking sales meetings for your sales expert with maximum time-efficiency so he won't have to arrange leads for sales at all.
