Video PowerPoint Slideshow to Shine Your Blog

Blog seems to be an integrated part of our digital routine. You have joy to share, sorrow to dispel, a story to tell, some truth to spread, right in your big small stage of blog. Blog yourself all the way in simple text? Oo, no, my friend. Add in something intuitive to capture more peers of similar mind with you. A picture will earn double credits for your blog posts. A moving slideshow with animations, add dozen credits. A handsome video slideshow, lift to double dozens of credits. That is why bloggers of sharp sights put an occasional audio-visual ingredient, like PowerPoint presentation or flash videos/movies, to their interactive personal space.

If you are such a sharp-sighted blogger, looking for a how-to guide of publishing a PowerPoint presentation, from your desktop to your blog, then head forward on this post. It will give details on how to insert a PowerPoint presentation to your blog, and thus relieve you from being paralyzed by a hard time of direct upload.

How to show a PowerPoint presentation in your blog?

To insert your presentation into a blog post, unfortunately there is no direct path. You cannot expect that the "Insert -> Select File -> Save" procedure works at all. You’ll need to take an interim measure to do that. It is as simple as 2 steps:

  • First, publish your PowerPoint presentation to a website that supports an embed code.
  • Second, copy and paste the Embed code of the published presentation to your blog.
  • Step 1 Step 1 Publish your PowerPoint presentation to a website that supports an embed code.

There are 6 approaches to publishing a PowerPoint presentation onto the Web. To be brief, these 6 methods can be categorized into 3 types – to upload the PowerPoint file to a presentation-compatible site (without format change), to save the PowerPoint presentation as Web Page and put on a website (format changed from PPT/PPS/PPTX/PPSX to HTML), and to convert the PowerPoint slideshow to video that may rock on the Web.

Personally, I seldom take the "Save As HTML" method, as I don’t want my live slideshow to be a dumb sum of still pictures and texts. More often, I employ an online presentation or video hub to get an embedded code, and then copy the code to my blog. The benefit is, visitors of the blog can watch the presentation (whether in PowerPoint itself or in video) online even without MS PowerPoint or the corresponding PowerPoint Viewer. If you don’t mind the loss of sound or video insert in your presentation, you can upload the presentation to a slide-sharing site (e.g. SlideShare, authorSTREAM, slideboom), which will generate an embedded code for the presentation for copying to your blog. But if you hope an integrated presentation as it was created in PowerPoint, no missing of animations, music, movie clips, etc, I recommend you try to convert to video that is flexible to publish on the Web.

Some spicy video hosting sites where you can publish your PowerPoint video: YouTube, BrightCove, Myspace

Before doing that, you need to make the PowerPoint presentation a video ready for the Web. It is easy with a conversion program like Moyea PPT to Video Converter. Conversion procedure brief:

    1. Install and launch Moyea PPT to Video Converter on your PC. Import the PowerPoint file that you would love to add to your blog.

    2. Select a video format (AVI, MP4, etc) for the selected presentation. Personalize it using Advancing Settings, Music and more custom settings within.

    3. Click "Start" to start the conversion process.

When you upload the presentation or the presentation-based to video successfully to a suggested site above, a corresponding embedded code is displayed there. Now, come to

Step 2Step 2 Copy and paste the Embed code of the published presentation to your blog

The presentation code should be like this:

    PowerPoint presentation embedded code

And the PowerPoint video code, should be like:

    video embedded code

Create a post in your blog, copy and paste the embedded code of the PowerPoint presentation/video to it. Publish the post. Done. The PowerPoint/video slideshow is living on your screen. Invite your friends to share!
