Ahh the dreaded Windows XP blue screen of death (or BSOD). For those Windows user you are probably well aware of the blue screen error. It seems to come at the most inopportune times. And when it strikes there is little to do but reboot your computer, losing any work not saved. The cause of it is a critical system error, the blue screen is a defense mechanism that prevents severe damage from occurring. I will help you understand what causes the Windows blue screen of death and how you can fix it the easy way.

There are numerous things that can cause the windows blue screen error. These are some of the most frequent triggers of the problem:

· Faulty memory or incompatible hardware and software. This typically happens when you install new software, hardware, or device drivers that are incompatible with your system.

· Insufficient power supply. This is due to a power supply wattage that is less than the requirements of your operating system

· Overheating of system components. This is a rather easy fix. Simply buy a computer fan to keep your system cool.

· Registry corruption and malfunctions. This is probably the most common cause of the windows blue screen of death. Incompatible registry keys and DLL files can cause the BSOD. Also bugs in windows registry kernel files can be a frequent culprit.

Fortunately it can be rather easy to fix the windows blue screen of death if you take the proper steps. The solution the 2nd and 3rd problems are to increase your power supply wattage and get a cooling fan for your computer.

The 1st and 4th problems are a little trickier for the novice. They require fixing up your registry directory to remove the windows blue screen errors.
