What happens when you have a family website and someone starts posting adult ads and links showing along side your website ? The problem here is that you have no control over these comments and you can not remove them. Sure there is a report link but let's face facts, there is no way for google to be able to handle millions of reports everyday. This is also assuming you know where to find the links because sidewiki does not work per website or domain name but actually works per page.
Can you honestly monitor 1,000's of pages if you have a large website or a large blog ? Where are you going to find the time to even monitor all these pages and report the comments ? Then if you do actually be able to monitor and report them, there is no promise google will remove them.
You see there are so many ways this tool can be used for evil that it has outraged many webmasters and you should be outraged right now also. Google is taking over your website and forcing you to have comments on your site, like it or not.
Some have tried to create a solution using javascript to block comments from being seen but as a website developer of over 15 years I can tell you know those solutions do not stop comments from being seen. I have seen these solutions and they are nothing more then free open source code pulled from websites that have snippets of javascript.
