answer to my prayers is always "yes"

"O lord almighty, please make me get through this interview! I have really worked hard for it and I desperately need this job, so please shower your kind blessings on me". Does this sound familiar? Seems like you have also, like millions of others, been talking to something you have never seen or even known of evidences of his existence, but still you have faith in him. Why so? Well, the answer is that a lot of your prayers have been answered to and miraculous incidents have taken place in your lives which have got you out of the worst of situations, which keeps your faith in the unseen very much alive. So we assume that there is some supreme power who is the master of everything and the one we can hold responsible for the good or evil taking place around us.

I do not believe in God. Explaining this outlook, I would say that if there actually is some almighty supreme power, which is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent, then it should also be able to control our thoughts. But in reality it isn’t so, else there would prevail peace and harmony in all parts of the world. One would never consider wars to be an answer to anything. It is one single thought that penetrates the mind of one human being that ultimately results in issues that affect the lives of millions around the globe.

But I still do not consider myself to be an atheist. It is so because even though I do not believe in God, I do respect people having faith in him and I very often pay a visit to the temple. Now I would really want to reason these actions. Firstly, I go to the temple considering it a holy space, where people enter with pure thoughts and a pure mind, and it is very satisfying to see the devotion with which they fold their hands before those idols, asking for the wellbeing of their loved ones. Secondly, I respect those having faith in the divine power because it is very essential to blindly believe in something which gives you hope and makes you feel that you would move out from even the worst of situations. I too believe in an opinion given by some great philosophers, according to which "every thought provokes an action".

This theory revolves around the whole concept of positive and negative thinking. It is believed that more the strength of ones thoughts towards something, the more that thing is likely to be true. That is the reason why when we so strongly ask for something from God, it is usually granted to us. Philosophers believe that as we provoke a thought in our minds, all the positive energies in this universe start to work upon fulfilling whatever our thoughts say, be it good or evil. I remember very clearly how as a child my mother would always preach that if we even think about harming others, we would first be affected by it. How very true, because this theory states that whatever we ask for first has its counteraction on us! Therefore, if we ask for good of others, we would be benefited first and the same goes for thinking the reverse.

It’s a very simple and logical theory. Those who believe in God also somehow follow the same theory, as they too in their prayers instigate different thoughts, which affect them and their loved ones. But this proposal can also explain the other daily occurrences of our lives. Whatever happens happens as a result of our thoughts. But sometimes events such as thefts, accidents and murders take us by surprise and one might question that why such mishaps have taken place, even though they never even thought of it. This too can be explained. These events usually take place with people who reflect a very negative attitude towards their lives. Even though they never really expected the corresponding event to have taken place, but still thinking of weather to leave the house with the servants or not, or double checking the lock at their shop before they leave or again and again sliding in their hands into their pockets to see if the new cell phone is still there or has been dropped somewhere itself shows a lot about the thinking of a person. It is definitely a completely acceptable thing to be a bit careful in life, but one shouldn’t go about his actions with negative thoughts in his mind.

The approach of a person towards his life is judged by the kind of thoughts that he allows to enter his mind. Thus, a positive approach is a must to gain success in every sphere of life. Even if one comes face to face with failure, he must think of it as a learning experience and move on in life. Thus as the saying goes," you must have faith in God in no matter what you choose. Keep a winning attitude and you can lose".
