Gap Theory Heresy Debunked
Author: Armando Sainz | Posted: 02-03-2008 | Comments: 0 | Views: 24 | Rating: (55) (?)
Most versions of the "gap" theory place millions of years of geologic time (including billions of fossil animals) in between these two first verses of Genesis. This is the "ruin-reconstruction" version of the gap theory. However, this is a fairy tale for Christians who prefer to be spoon fed the bible and refuse to study for themselves.
The fact is the Gap Theory or "ruin-reconstruction" undermines the gospel and the Bible as it allows for death, bloodshed, disease, and suffering before Adam's sin. Because most "ruin-reconstruction" theorists have accepted the millions of years dating for the fossil record, (which has been debunked over and over) they have thus allowed the fallible theories of scientists to determine the meaning of Scripture.
Gap Theory History -
1795 - Hutton writes "Theory of Earth" and says the earth is much older than 6000 years old.
1814 - Thomas Chalmer, a Scottish theologian invents the "Gap Theory". He was a Masonic Temple member and did not like the King James Version.
1814 Rev. William Buckland, a geologist, did much to popularize the idea.
1859 - Charles Darwin - Theory of Evolution
Clearance Larkin uses the first earth or gap theory in his writings. He also did not use the King James Version (I still like Larkin but he is wrong on this one)
Adolph Hitler supposing that Evolution is true, did all his evil works.
Today evolution is taught as fact in schools.
Today John Hagee and others teach the gap theory as fact. Hagee goes as far as saying that Jesus never offered salvation to the Jews. This is obviously bunk!
Most of these teachers prefer other versions of the bible.
Scripture against the Gap Theory from the King James Version -
Genesis 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Exodus 20:11 For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Exodus 31:17 It [is] a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
Hebrews 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh [day] on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
Romans 5:12-14 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
1 Corinthians 15:21 For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1 Corinthians 15:26 The last enemy [that] shall be destroyed [is] death.
Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the FIRST heaven and the FIRST earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
In Genesis 1:28 it says the word replenish. The 1611 definition of the word replenish = to fill with a stock or supply of something. (Note: replenish does not have "re" as a prefix. It is just an entire word "replenish") As time went by as is usual in the English language, this word "replenish" got a new meaning. For a while it meant to fill or to refill but now it just means to refill. So we must go with the 1611 meaning of the word.
In Jeremiah 4:23 it says - I beheld the earth, and, lo, [it was] without form, and void; and the heavens, and they [had] no light. This has nothing to do with creation. The language is similar but that's all. It is used to describe the destruction. We today say "we're going to blow them back to the stone age" to describe how we will destroy our enemy. So Jeremiah in essence was saying the destruction was so bad that it took them back to the creation.
When it says in Jeremiah 4:25 I beheld, and, lo, [there was] no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. This does not line up with the creation story because God did not create birds until day five. So if the birds fled it is clearly after creation and not the same story. Later it says in Jeremiah 4:29 The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen;... There were no cities, horsemen and especially no weapons (bows for bowmen) in the creation story.
Genesis 1:1 says - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Beginning means beginning. That means He created time right there. What was before creation? You cannot ask what was "before" because apart from time and this dimension that we live in is eternity and that is where God exists. He is eternal.
Some put the fall of Satan in this supposed period. But any rebellion of Satan during this gap of time contradicts God's description of His completed creation on day six as all being "very good" (Genesis 1:31). The fall of Satan was outside of this dimension and therefore out of "time".
All versions of the gap theory impose outside ideas on Scripture and thus open the door for further compromise.
This ruin-reconstruction view is held by many who use Bible study aids such as the Scofield Reference Bible, Dake's Annotated Reference Bible, and The Newberry Reference Bible. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE THE KING JAMES BIBLE. I even see in my King James Bible that the commentators many times suggest that the scripture is more correct in the other versions. With other versions it is more easy to promote an old earth.
Again only the King James Bible protects the true word of God. Psalm 12:6-7 The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
Let God be true, but every man a liar!

How many actual miles did Jesus travel during his 3-year ministry?
By: Jesus' Travels | 19-08-2008
I once heard a radio preacher site the number of miles Jesus traveled during His three-year ministry while here on earth. Unfortunately, I did not write down the information nor do I remember the preacher's name and time of his broadcast. Is there anyone else in the Yedda community who might know the actual miles Jesus 'walked' to deliver his message and perform his miracles? I need this information to embellish a speech I am making on the divine appointment of foreign missionaries.
