Pondering God

"It's been a great day." How many times in your life have you been able to say that? For me, today was a great day. Not for any particular grand reason. I do have some tough things behind me, and a lull in some work activity, but that's not really the reason. I can't really give you a specific catalyst or turning point. There wasn't one. The reality is, I'm actually facing some uncertainties. And I have a rather "busy" couple of days ahead. And I am in a season of "weathering" a few things. But all of that seems to be somewhere else these days. As I tread the deep waters of my heart, I have found new levels of grace and peace being bestowed upon me from above. Or should I say, I am now realizing the deeper levels of grace and peace that God has already bestowed upon me.

And that has allowed me to realize the greater gift, which is where this new way of embracing the comings and goings of my life comes from. And that gift is the wisdom of knowing the revelation of the Kingdom in which I reside. There is a whole new world staring us in the face if we could only grasp the significance of what God has done on our behalf. Have you pondered that lately? Have you really taken the time to let that truth sink into the deep crevices of your soul? We have given so much of our lives over to the busyness of life. We find ourselves in a quandary and cry out, "where are you God?" I wonder? Do we really know God?

British Hymn writer, Frederick W. Faber wrote:
Only to sit and think of God,
Oh what a joy it is!
To think the thought, to breathe the Name;
Earth has no higher bliss.

"Only to sit and think of God" ... it's 1:30 AM as I read that stanza. It's nine degrees outside, and I'm nestled in my living room in front of silent, poetic, almost reverent flames lapping at the logs in the fireplace. It's quiet and peaceful. And I have goose bumps as I breathe in this life God has set me in. I try to remember my blessings for today, yet there are too many to count. Oh what a joy it is, to ponder the things of God.

Maybe for you it has to be a stool in your work shop, or the front seat of your car or truck, or on the foot of your bed. God likes those places too. Just find some time, some where, and sit and think of God. Soak in the magnitude of this life He has placed you in. Better yet, walk outside on a clear night and stare at the stars for a while. Let it be cold. Feel Him in the wind on your face, and the chill in the air. Breathe in deep and feel God in your lungs. You're alive man! That's awesome! Until we begin to open our hearts, the real depth of our hearts, to the Almighty Creator of all that we are, we will continue to tumble to and fro like brush in the wind. Spend some real time with God this week, alone, quiet, and in thought. It's worth every second.

Are Psychic Reviews Sites Trustworthy? (This May Surprise You!)

By: Danny Fredricks | 29/12/2009
Who else is looking for some good old fashioned psychic review sites, to check out before getting a reading? If you are anything like I am, you simply don't do anything without first checking out a few reviews before you buy, right? It's generally a pretty good policy...but if you aren't careful you CAN find yourself a bit deceived and disappointed by what you read.

By: Danny Fredricks | 29/12/2009
Are psychic readings ever 100% accurate? Are there any psychics SO good that they're "hit" rate is close to, or at 100%? If you are anything like I was when I first got started researching psychic readings close to 20 years ago, you probably are ALWAYS on the lookout for psychics that are SO accurate....they NEVER miss, right? I thought if you were psychic, that means that you "see" it all....and never make a mistake. (suffice it to say... I was wrong!)

Season Training

Whose "team" are you on? If you call yourself a Christian, you're declaring that you're on God's team, therefore, declaring to the "other side," that you've identified them as the opposing team. That makes you a target.

Make it Happen

If you think you're perfect, you'll offend everyone around you. No one want's to associate with someone who thinks they're perfect. Oh, most of us will be kind, but we won't have any need for that kind of person in our lives, because that mind set is a lie. That attitude is always driven by fear. Fear of failure, of getting it wrong, of making a mistake, of losing, of saying or doing the wrong thing, or of being discovered to not be as good as you pretend to be.

The Adventure in Life

By: Greg Tutwiler | 25/03/2008 | Spirituality
No matter what situation we find ourselves in, we have to remember that God is there in it too, with us. He's teaching us. He's leading us. He's growing us. He's resting us. He's renovating us and restoring us to the original state He intended from the beginning.

My Way

By: Greg Tutwiler | 25/03/2008 | Spirituality
I want what I want, and I want it now. How many times have you thought that? Isn't it human nature? We have to walk the walk the way God wants us to. In every one of our lives, He has something He wants to teach us. You are where you are because God is trying to show you something. Or He has shown you something; something He wants you to do next, and you haven't taken the next step. Our "trees" often get in the way of God's "forest."

Your Legacy

Journaling nourishes your soul. Journaling allows you to travel back to those moments when the pain was unbearable, through the moments of restoration. You must write it down. If you ever hope to taste again the joy of those moments, you have to write them down; your words, your thoughts, your experiences, the way it happened for you.
