Reveries (Praveer Dhaka)
Life has a curious way of dealing with you. It can change the next moment your perception of it. All the men of letters of the world have written about in vivid detail, but failed miserably to get a hold over it.
The ocean’s depth is unfathomable. One has to dive deep to get to the pearls. The world with its chaos and confusion is difficult to decipher.
We are strange creatures.
Man is full of contradictions. Alexander pope was correct. Fear of contradictions of fellow beings stops us from giving air to our feelings. However much we try we are cowards in one way or the other. Cowards who would not admit that others better than us exist.
Sometimes we feel like shouting at the rooftop. Frustration gets us as we age, we search for solutions like hungry wolfs. With time our aspirations wither and we abandon our quest.
Enough of this, it is a sweet journey we are doing—somebody will tell us.
Is it indeed?
Preferences – ha ha - why do we need one thing and abandon the other?
Anger at being mistreated and denying our own role in it.
Solace --- where can we find it? We know-- nowhere.
I am hurt. An expression whose existence is immemorial. What brings me happiness? -- trifle nothings (hey ask yourself).
These reveries stay with us throughout the day. And we keep on denying them.
Fall of the night -- end of troubles, belly full , sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
That is how we end our days.
CAN’T WE BE SOMETHING DIFFERENT—agh! Again that inconsequential urge.

Overworked husband and SAHM who can't help
By: Woodlands5 | 19-06-2008
I am a stay at home mom who works while the kids are at school and I'm home during the summer. My husband works all day and then goes to our other house to work on it for a few hours. On the weekends he is there at least 10 hours a day. The work he is doing is putting on a new roof and building a new deck. The heat index has been 100+ for 3 weeks here. I don't deal well with heat at all. Makes me sick to my stomach. I feel bad that I honestly dont feel like I can help him. So he gets home and is always so tired and looks at me like what did you do today? (Condescending tone. I feel guilty that I can't help but I also have three kids at home who need me here too.) He wont hire anyone to help. Too cheap. Most of the time I feel like he hates me for not doing enough and he overdoes it. Please help.
