Morley Athletic Supply Company Inc. has been in business since 1931. As a fourth generation family member involved in the company, team sports is more than a job it's an obsession. With thousands of new products being developed and marketed every year it is important to keep coaches and players updated on what's new for their sport. I write articles to provide them with this information.
Lacrosse is no stranger to break through technology. It seems that since the sport really started spreading through schools in the United States the equipment used on the field has gone from near primitive to some of the most advanced technology in sports. Padding has been streamlined and sticks have been tweaked for top performance.
I still remember the day that our Cascade salesman first walked through the door of our office with the prototype of the Iris Lacrosse Mask. Our first thought is that it resembled one of the old basketball eye guards we had on the shelf from the 70’s. That notion quickly faded as we realized that this was going to be a big hit. Not only did it provide more protection than the goggles used in women’s lacrosse at the time but we realized immediately that the “fog” factor was gone. The open design of the Iris mask would not fog up like goggles. Our prediction proved to be true and wire face masks swept the women’s lacrosse market like a tsunami.
Many years have gone by since Cascade developed the first Iris mask. They have designed several other models with varying changes and the product has evolved and has done very well. Cascade didn’t stop there though. They pushed on and as new technology has become available they tested it and as players offered feedback and suggestions they listened.
The 2010 lacrosse season will see the introduction of the Cascade Poly Air Lacrosse Mask. A new innovation that is sure to take the field by storm.
The Cascade Poly Air Lacrosse Mask at first glance looks like something from a Sci-Fi movie. It is sleek and sexy but it still provides durable protection. The mask is so minimal that from some angles it’s actually hard to see.
This mask has a ton of features built in though. Here's a list:
-
Outta Sight Bar Technology - The low profile aerospace grade stainless bar allows a crisp view of ground balls and up-field action
-
Safety is queen. Meets ASTM standard for women's lacrosse. (60 mph ball impact)
-
Vision, seeing is believing...and dominating
-
Hybrid Materials - Sophistication and innovation wrapped up in a little package that delivers downward and peripheral views
-
Co-Poly frame delivers incredible reduction in weight for all-day comfort
-
Over 55% lighter than competitors. If it's heavy, it can't be comfy
-
Geometry Matters - Feminine frame contours that provide a precise and comfy fit
-
Unbeatable V strap design that's proven itself over and over; It's a cinch, literally
-
Clean and comfortable. Anatomically right, anti-microbial fit foam
-
Available in 15 colors: old gold, forest green, Carolina blue, cobalt blue, royal blue, navy blue, purple, silver, white, black, maroon, scarlet, orange, athletic gold, yellow
With all of these features, an affordable price tag and a huge selection of team colors there's nothing about the Cascade Poly Air Lacrosse Mask to hold you back from outfitting the whole team.
