Matches From the Mind Vol. 8

Welcome back everybody to the world's most famous arena, the REM arena in the mind of Mordecai, and tonight we have an epic Wrestlemania rematch on hand. In the finals of the Jim Johnston Cup we will see The Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels take on the Texas Rattle Snake Stone Cold Steve Austin. This match doesn't need much introduction so let's get started. Ring the bell!

The match starts off with these meeting each other in the middle of the ring. They get in each other's face and exchange words. Michaels shoves Austin. Austin smiles, and then knocks down HBK with a right hand. Shawn gets back to his feet, but Austin keeps on the offense with a kick to the midsection, followed by some punches that force his opponent into the corner. Austin throws in some more punches, and then stomps his opponent while they're standing in the corner. The ref steps between the competitors, and makes Austin back up. When the ref moves aside he walks back towards the corner, but he's met with a knife-edge chop from Michaels. He lays in a few more until they're in the middle of then ring, and then Michaels tries to whip Steve into the ropes, but he reverses it. Stone Cold bends over for a back body drop, but HBK flips over into a sunset flip. Austin rolls through, stands up, grabs Shawn's legs, and configures them for a Texas Cloverleaf. However, before Austin can turn the Showstopper over; Michaels rolls it into a small package. 1...2...kick out.

They get up, and Austin is quicker on the draw, as he delivers a knee to Michaels mid section. He body slams him, and then bounces off the ropes, and delivers his elbow drop with theatrics. Austin covers, but it's only a two. He brings his rival to their feet, and throws them into the ropes. On the rebound he's hit with a back elbow. Michaels recovers in the corner. Austin meets him there, and delivers some stiff blows before lifting him onto the top turnbuckle. He gets in position for a superplex, but Shawn fights back. HBK delivers repeated blows to Stone Cold's gut, and then pushes him to the mat. The Showstopper leaps for an elbow drop, but Austin moves. Both men are slow getting back to their feet. Austin is up first, and he meets HBK with a clothesline, followed by another, and then one more. After the last one he lifts Michaels by a leg, and drops him throat first on the top rope. The attack causes Michael's to bounce back into the opposite corner. He manages to stand up, and as Austin charges at him he blocks it with a back elbow. With out hesitating he utilizes a chop block on the heavily braced knees of his opponent. Michaels takes hold of the leg, and pulls on it in various directions. Afterwards he slams the leg into the mat. HBK takes a moment to work the crowd while Stone Cold tries to get back to his feet. While Steve is using the ropes for support Shawn comes up from behind and kicks the injured leg out from underneath Austin. Shawn then takes the leg, applies a spinning toe hold, then puts the legs in the shape of a four for a devastating Figure Four Leg Lock. The hold has Stone Cold screaming in pain. Austin reaches desperately for the ropes, but they are ever so slightly out of reach. Finally, Austin musters up the strength to get close enough to the ropes.

Shawn breaks the hold, and goes right back to the leg. Austin manages to kick him off though. Michaels gets right back up, and charges Austin, but The Rattle Snake executes a hip toss on Michaels. He quickly commences to stomping the hell out of The Heart Break Kid. He brings him up to his feet. Stone Cold throws him into the ropes, and hit's a spine buster. It may not have been the wisest move choice though, as it leaves Austin on the ground holding his knee. Austin makes his way to the corner, and pulls himself up. Michaels is in the opposite corner holding his back. The Rattle Snake walks towards Shawn with bad intentions. In an act of desperation HBK leaps on Austin at the last moment, and begins laying in closed fist punches to the opponent's head. Austin manages to roll them over, placing himself on top, and delivers punches of his own. Shawn then rolls back on top for some punches. Austin rolls them once more, but they spill outside the ring. Both men are laid out on the floor. Michaels pulls himself up on the apron, while Stone Cold uses the table for support. The Heart Break Kid starts toward his rival, but he's cut off. Austin charges him, and forces him back first into the side of the ring. From there Austin lays in some punches to Shawn's head. He brings him away from the ring apron, and whips him into the steel steps, causing Michaels to flip over them onto the other side. Austin takes a minute to catch his breath, and then hobbles over to his opponent who is still on the floor. As he goes to pick HBK up by his head, The Showstopper pushes him, back first, into the steel steps. Shawn gets up, and removes the top part of the steps. He brings Stone Cold on to the broad flat surface of the steps, and places his head between his legs. Before Michaels can bring him up for a piledriver though, Austin flips him onto the floor.

Trying to ignore the pain in his leg, he walks over to the announcer's table. He grabs a cable, and wraps it around Michaels' throat, releasing before he would be disqualified. He tosses the Heart Break Kid to the ground. The ref is yelling at Austin to bring it in the ring, but he just flips off the referee. He then grabs a chair. As he's walking towards Shawn; Stone Cole brings the chair over head, but Michaels kicks him in the injured knee, causing Austin to fall to the ground. HBK walks to the ring apron, still holding his back. He climbs up on the apron to get back in the ring, but he's stopped when Austin grabs his tights. He manages to kick Austin lose, which sends him stumbling back towards the announcer's table. Shawn then bounces off the second rope, and does a springboard moonsault on The Bionic Redneck.

Both men are down. Neither one is moving much. They are both trying to make it back to the ring. After a while of struggling, they both manage to get back in the ring, though neither one is on their feet. They go to opposite corners to try and get their breath. Feeling he needs to capitalize on his weakened opponent, Stone Cold makes his way towards the Showstopper's corner. Michaels comes blasting out with a super kick, but Austin ducked it. When Shawn turns around Austin tries for a kick to the mid section, but HBK catches it, and executes a dragon whip. Following his opponent down, Michaels doesn't release the leg. Instead he places it between his shins, jumps, and lands on it. Still holding the leg Shawn turns Austin over, and then lifts the knee and slams it into the mat. Shawn goes to apply another figure four, but Austin pushes Michaels into the ropes. When he comes back, Austin reaches up for a small package. 1...2...kick out.

They get up, and Austin tries to kick again, but Michaels catches it and takes him down by sweeping his other leg. From this position HBK locks on his inverted Figure Four. Austin is once again screaming in pain. The torment is excruciating, and you can see it on Stone Cold's face. Austin's hand hovers just above the mat, ready to tap at any second. But the Texas Rattle Snake grit his teeth, and reaches for the ropes. Using every ounce of strength he has left he drags himself to the ropes, and grabs hold of the bottom rope. Shawn releases the hold, and backs up per the referee's orders. As Shawn walks over to Austin, the Rattle Snake grabs the front of Michaels' tights, and pulls him face first into the turnbuckle. Suddenly, Austin gets a second wind. He gets to his feet, and tries to ignore the pain in his leg. As Michaels gets up he's met with a big right hand from Austin. It's followed by two more, Stone Cold flips him off, and then floors him with another one. Austin bounces off of the ropes, and leaps on Michaels with a Lou Thesz Press, with punches added for flavor. Austin gets up, barely noticing the pain. He gets on the second rope, and leaps, planting a pointed elbow into the heart of Michaels. He covers, 1...2...kick out.

He brings his opponent up, and whips him into the ropes. Michaels ducks a clothesline, and comes off the ropes with a flying forearm. He kips up, and plays to crowd a little. Michaels' come back is cut short though, as he goes to throw a punch at Austin, but he ducks it, and locks in the Million Dollar Dream. An old move from Stone Cold's Ringmaster days. Shawn flails about wildly in the hold, reaching for the ropes. Before he can reach them Austin throws him down. Shawn is quick to recover, but is met with a clothesline. Austin tries to throw HBK into the ropes, but it's reversed. On the rebound Michaels catches Austin with a Manhattan drop. He follows up with a dropkick to the knee. Shawn ends the sequence with an enziguiri to a kneeling Austin. He covers, 1...2...Steve kicks out.

He brings Austin to his feet, just so he can body slam him back down. Shawn goes up top again. He leaps for an elbow drop, but Austin, not having the energy to move out of the way, pulls his knees up. It stopped the elbow drop, but may have done just as much damage to Austin's legs. Austin tries to gut out the pain, and uses the ropes to get to his feet. HBK, holding his arm, stumbles over to a waiting Austin. Stone Cold delivers a kick to the mid section, but instead of following up with the Stunner immediately afterwards he holds his leg for a moment. He then wraps his arms around Michaels' neck, but The Showstopper pushes him off into the ropes. When he comes he's met with Sweet Chin Music, and covered, 1...2...3! HBK wins.

Well folks it seems that working over Austin's leg really paid off in the end, as it was the brief distraction that cost Austin the match, and the Jim Johnston Cup. Shawn has had three matches in the REM arena, more than anyone else, and won two of them. I think that makes him the number one contender to Kane's REM World Championship, so look for that soon. Speaking of which, next week I will be naming the first ever REM World Tag Team Champions. All I can say right now is that one of the teams will be. My latest Hall Of Fame inductees, The Road Warriors, Hawk and Animal. Well it's been fun, now, GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!!!!!!
