Nascar Sprint Cup: Mark Martin Prevails in Southern 500

After the 254 lap, the race restarted and Biffle took the leadership again, but lost it in the lap 296 because his car skidded crashing against the protection wall. When Martin realized of what happened, he immediately took advantage of this and took the leading position again after overtaking his teammate Jimmie Johnson. Martin firmly resisted the constant attacks from his nearer pursuers, who could not do anything else but watch how Mark was letting them behind moving away at full speed to cross the finish line and appropriate himself with the checkered flag with which the victory was adjudged to him the Saturday night at Darlington Raceway. The second place was for Jimmie Johnson, whereas Tony Stewart with his Chevrolet # 14 arrived in the third position.
