Premier League Weekend – 17th–18th October

Attention can now return to the Premier League after the international break. One of the most exciting games of the weekend looks to be Chelsea’s trip to Villa Park for the Saturday lunch time kick off. Buyers of Villa’s win index with Sporting Index will be concerned about their lack of consistency, with Martin O’Neill’s side putting in a good display one week and a poor one the next. Chelsea are slight spread supremacy favourites and sellers will be hoping for a repeat of Villa’s 2-0 victory in 2007. Those looking to buy the Blues’ supremacy will be worried that Michael Ballack may miss the trip after picking up an injury while playing for Germany. However the West Londoners are on another impressive run, only losing once in the last ten matches. This fixture down the years has usually been a tight affair with only five goals being scored in the last five matches at Villa Park. Sellers of total goals will also be encouraged that there have been two scoreless draws in those five fixtures.

Having rescued a late point against Sunderland two weeks ago, Man United will be itching to get back to winning ways. Buyers of United’s win index spread will be happy about Bolton’s poor record at Old Trafford. The last time the Trotters took three points from Old Trafford was in 2002. Those looking to buy United’s match supremacy spread will be aware that Bolton have managed to pick up six of their eight points away from the Reebok this season. Supremacy spread enthusiasts will have also taken note that United have won the last six matches at Old Trafford. Punters looking at the total goals market should note that Bolton have only managed two goals at Old Trafford in the last six years, whilst United have averaged exactly three goals per match against their North-West rivals in the same period. Those spread punters thinking of playing the bookings supremacy market should note that Bolton have only had three yellow cards in their three away games this season.

Buyers of Liverpool’s win index spread will be hoping that the Reds will be able to turn their luck around against Sunderland after their two losses against Chelsea and Fiorentina. However, luck might not be the deciding factor for spread bettors out there as Liverpool have not lost to the Black Cats since 2001. Spread punters buying Liverpool’s supremacy spread will be happy to hear that Sunderland haven’t won in the past six games against the Reds. To add insult to injury, Sunderland haven’t been able to score a single goal in any of these clashes which is sure to encourage the spread punters buying the time of Sunderland’s first goal. Sellers will point to the fact that the Black Cats have scored nine goals in their past three games though, including two at Old Trafford last weekend.
