Steps in Applying for College Sports Scholarship

There are numbers of unused talent within the campus and there are as many wasted opportunities. These are series of common scenarios among students who fail to realize that they have all it takes to be the next college sports big thing.

Here are the step-by step procedures in applying for college sports scholarship grant:

  • Earn a required average. While the grade requirement varies on school standards, an average of no less than 85% is somehow safe. This average should come with no record of failing mark and discipline issue within the last semester.
  • Ask for an application form. College sports scholarship application forms are available in the student affairs office. However, updated Universities have made their applications downloadable online. Hence, it pays to check the intended university’s website regularly.
  • Prepare for at least two written references from school authorities. References from former coach, physical education teacher and the like weight greater in this type of scholarship.
  • Prepare two pass port pictures
  • Though not required, making a report of information relevant to the application is a plus.

Since the given procedures above are general, some universities may ask for additional requirements.

Moreover, students may pass through different procedures depending on the kind of college sports scholarship they are applying for and on what grounds.

Students can depend on the fund available at the university, avail state scholarship program or ask for some commercial scholarships offered in the Internet.

Meanwhile, other changes on procedure are dependent on how the student acquires the college sports scholarship. The grant may be based on needs or merits.

Realizing the trouble-free steps of application and the numbers of ways to acquire college sports scholarship, students can no longer throw the blame on anyone if they miss to be a part of the university’s dream team.

By: Paul Scott | 04/01/2010

Triathlons and Equipment Required

By: Paul Scott | 04/01/2010
Triathlon is an equipment-intensive sport. To compete, you need to have gear for swimming, biking, and running (which adds up to a carload), and there are many added extras that are nice to have during training. Although the fitness and strength of a rider are the biggest determining factors in performance, equipment is a key area where improvements can be made. Obviously, you will go faster with less energy on a 19-pound, titanium, triathlon filly than a 40- pound, discount-store steed. A fast
