The Missing Link to Personal Safety

When it comes to personal safety and self-defense, it is important to remember that "one size does not fit all." While there is some common sense advice we all can benefit from, a more personalized body-mind approach to Personal Safety will help you gain the security and the confidence you are looking for. How do you personalize your training to overcome a stronger and more forceful attacker? The first step is to assess a potentially dangerous situation from a realistic point of view.

Traditional self-defense programs are taught with the best of intentions, but in hindsight neglect some important elements that make those programs useless. If you don’t question the advice given you will find yourself in the “victim”-position once again. Revat is new, revolutionary and different because its practitioners (men and women, professionals and even martial arts experts) follow two rules that are neglected by other programs.

The first rule of self-defense is that the attacker is always stronger. This needs no explanation and can be categorized as ‘common sense’. Nobody will ever attack someone who is stronger than they are. After all, you are supposed to be the “victim” and not a challenge. This first rule is the reason why any joint locks, wrestling moves or even any blocks never work in real life.

The second rule of self-defense is that you only have a couple to seconds to react and defend the attack. Anybody who has ever been attacked knows that; the attack is over before you realize what just happened. Therefore, you need to train your reflexes and not techniques. Techniques are something you have to remember; some times they work many times they don’t. Reflexes always work; you don’t have to think about what to do when you touch a hot stove. You automatically and instinctively know what to do in order to protect yourself from more pain. Of course, you need to train your reflexes properly so they can respond accordingly. And you do this with REVAT. It is the only self-defense program that follows the 2 rules of self-defense. Anybody who chooses to neglect these rules will always be “the victim.

Did you know that most self-defense programs put you in a “victim”-position from the very beginning? Participants are taught how to get out of a grab or a choke hold with techniques that work in the class but never in real life. Many leave these courses thinking that it is their “fault” that the technique didn’t work. But it is the technique that is faulty. Traditional programs work for strong and tall people. With the Revat Reflex Training you can leverage your attacker’s strength and turn it against him. That makes Revat the perfect program for the “average built” person.

Self-defense is a skill that can be learned by anyone and Revat makes the training easy and fun yet highly effective. Revat utilizes a very specific “Reflex Training” that allows the practitioner to feel the power and the direction of an attack. In addition, the Revat practitioner then uses the energy of the attack to move his body out of the way and deflects the attack almost effortlessly. The simultaneous execution of defense and counter attack by the practitioner enables him or her to control the fight and end it before it escalates. A self-defense situation is not a competition. There are no rules, time limits and weight classes. The situation has to be brought under control and ended quickly in order to avoid any injuries. Revat enables you to take charge of the situation, mentally and physically.

Many of my female clients don’t feel intimidated by the training and the different exercises. Actually they enjoy working and practicing with male clients because it gives them a much better understanding of the reality of a self-defense situation. They practice every possible attack while standing, sitting down and even attacks from behind. The training also includes attacks with weapons. Going through these scenarios empowers women and boosts their confidence. Women and men gain a new understanding of the value of personal safety and their ability to protect themselves and their families if necessary.

Many women (and men) are very concerned about their safety when they go out and meet friends at a restaurant or a party or when they need to get to their car in a dark parking garage. You never know if there is someone to harm you. The training in Revat will give you the peace of mind you want in order to enjoy life without the fear and worry about your Personal Safety. Knowing that you can protect yourself is the ultimate boost in confidence and empowerment. When you can do that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Nothing will stop you! Imagine what you will do…
