Foley Fires up Founder
Well the big thing this week is the qualifying match between Kurt and Sting. They're hyping it up a lot. But I'm liking what TNA has been doing, they're picking up a lot of big names. Most recently, Raven, Stevie, and Shane Douglas, and of course Tazz when he comes out. But now, some other people are being rumored. Mr. Kennedy and Umaga once their no compete clauses are out. Possibly Burke, Mysterio may be leaving WWE soon, so that'd be sweet, and...could it be? Please? The whole damn show, ROB VAN DAM!!! TNA is trying to get in contact with him too, which would be huge. If he joins the MEM, and faces Tazz?!? Holy [ beep ]. Anyway...
We start off with Mick and his security. When he took the job, he knew there would be tough times. Even though he knows eventually someone will take his title, but Jeff took something that Mick never thought he would lose...his smile. He brings out Jeff for a hard decision. After the assault on Hebner last week, Jeff is fined and suspended without pay from TNA. Mick says it can either go the easy way or the hard way, and JJ chooses the hard way. The security takes him down, but Jarrett counters a double team and takes down security, with the help of a chair. Foley informs him that he will single handedly throw Jeff out tonight.
Lauren is with Team 3D. She wants to know why 3D made the save for Beer Money last week. Devon says there are two reasons. First, they have a problem with the Brits. They let them into the tournament, and they bit the hand that fed them. Ray says the second reason is that this business is about passing down knowledge and respect. They beat respect into Beer Money, and they are the tag team of the future. But 3D is still the best. Everyone leaves, and Raven is just sitting up against a wall.
JB is with JJ, who wants his reaction to Mick Foley. Jeff says he understands the actions of Mick, and he has apologized to Earl repeatedly. He was going to leave willingly, but now he's going to see what Mick's made of.
Match 1: Alex Shelly & Jay Lethal vs. Team 3D
Devon starts off against Shelly. Some holds and counters. Shelly starts hitting some kicks and dodging punches, then hit's a spinning kick. Devon gets up and nails a power slam, and tags Ray in, who does a side slam while Devon lays down a leg drop. Shelly flips around and tags Lethal in. Ray has an armbar in, but Lethal does some flipping counter, jumps over the ropes and slams his arm onto the ropes, then hit's a double axe handle. He goes for a flipping elbow, but Ray catches him and german suplexs him. Devon is tagged in, but Lethal dropkicks 3D, and Shelly comes in and they hit a double dropkick on 3D. They attempt a double suicide dive, but hit their respective partners. 3D tries to 3D Lethal, but he grabs the ropes, and Shelly low blows Ray. Lethal and Shelly take advantage for a bit on Ray, but he breaks off and tags in Devon, who proceeds to clean house. Creed and Sabin try to interfere, but Ray throws them out. Devon hit's the diving head butt, then the British Invasion come out. Ray knocks two out, but Williams hits Devon from behind with the case. Shelly rolls him up.
Winners: Shelly & Lethal
Match Rating: 8/10
JB is with Mick Foley and like 20 security guys. JB asks if this is what he meant by single-handed. Mick explains he single-handedly selected all of them. They go to get Jeff.
JB runs in to warn Jeff, and then Foley and his whole crew show up. JJ too questions the single-handed issue, and Mick asks him to walk away before someone gets hurt. Jarrett says he'll leave before he does something he really regrets, and warns Foley to re-evaluate his position in TNA, and find out what his real role is.
Some promo.
JB is with Booker T and Scott Steiner. Booker said something, I couldn't understand. Steiner comes in and says blood isn't enough, he'll break his legs then make him bleed.
Match 2: Booker & Steiner vs. Samoa "Taz 3.0" Joe (Nation of Violence First Blood)
Steiner and Joe start fighting on the ramp. Steiner takes advantage and throws Joe into the rail, hits him with the ring bell, rings the bell on his head, and throws him into two ring posts. They go into the ring, and Joe takes advantage. Joe is throwing punches, kicks, elbows, everything at Steiner. Steiner hit's a face buster though, and exposes the turnbuckle. Joe reverses the attempt and smashes Steiner into it. They head outside, and Steiner gets a lead pipe. Joe nails a suicide dive, then puts a garbage can on Steiner. He smashes it with the pipe, and Steiner is covered in blood. Hes out. Booker comes out.
Joe and Booker are trading shots and kicks along the rail, and throws into the ringpost. Booker throws Joe into the ring steps, and hits multiple knees. He goes for a kick, but nuts himself on the rail. Joe hits him in the stomach with the lead pipe, and Booker starts spitting up blood.
Winner: Samoa Joe
Match Rating: 9/10
Recap of the match
Lauren is with the MEM and the trainers, trying to find out how bad they are. And Raven is just chilling against the wall.
Match 3: Shane Douglas vs. AJ Styles
Shane comes out repping the black and gold. Way to go. So he's got a farmer's tan and he's pretty flinchy. Holds and counters, then AJ dropkicks Douglas out of the ring. He goes for a suicide dive, but tweaks his ankle. Douglas takes advantage and throws AJ into the rail. AJ tries a springboard into the ring, but Shane blocks it and Styles gets hung up. He and AJ are trading punches, then he nails the Pele, but gets a two count. AJ blocks a belly to belly suplex, and locks in a flying armbar, and Shane taps.
Winner: AJ Styles
Match Rating: 6/10
Douglas attacks AJ after the match, and nails his belly to belly suplex, and Daniels comes out to make the save. Shane hits him with a towel with handcuffs inside, and cuffs him to the ropes. Shane goes back over to AJ and beats him down, until Joe comes out and he scampers.
7 years promo.
Raven chases Lauren into the bathroom who is calling Wilde for help, who gets attacked, even though we don't see it. Daffney comes out of the bathroom.
Wilde is looking for Daffeny, with a lead pipe. She finds her, but Daffney beats her down, while Stevie and Raven and leaning against the wall. Stevie stops her, and tells Taylor that's all the time we have for this week.
JB is with the Beautiful People, and they again make my IQ take a dip, confusing nouns and adjectives. Just shut up.
ODB and Deaner training video.
JB is with Kurt. He tells Joe that if you want him, you've got him. Bring it, and he has something for Joe.
Match 4: Tara vs. Madison Rayne
This starts off with holds and counters, and Tara locks in a crazy armbar. Rayne tries to take a timeout, and gets dropkicked for it. Tara rolls her in, and lands a slingshot leg drop. Rayne counters with a spinning neck breaker, and gets three two counts. She goes up and misses a missile dropkick. Tara goes on a rampage hitting a snap suplex, a scoop slam, and a standing moonsault, then a Widow's Peak (such a sick looking move)
Winner: Tara
Match Rating: 6/10
JB is with EY, asking him what's gotten into Eric lately. He says that he's tired of being abused and taken advantage of. JB tells him to stop feeling sorry for himself, and Eric slaps him.
SoCal Val is interviewing Daniels. He tells Shane Douglas that if he wants his second chance, at Slammiversary, he'll put up his roster spot against Douglas. If Shane loses, he has to leave TNA forever.
Match 5: Kurt Angle vs. Sting
Kurt is also repping the Pens, black and gold. They shake before they start. They start with holds and counters. Kurt knocks Sting down with a shoulder off of the ropes. Sting does the same thing multiple times. Kurt takes a timeout, and so does TNA.
Kurt has the advantage when we come back, with a snap suplex. Sting clotheslines Kurt outside the ring, and starts punching Angle outside. They go back into the ring, and Sting misses the Stinger Splash, and Angle hit's the Angle Slam, but gets a 2 count. We see them trade the advantage for a while, and we go to commercial after a snapmere on Sting.
We come back with Sting throwing some elbows. They run into each other and take each other down. Sting takes the advantage when they get up, hitting a clotheslines, followed by two Stinger Splashes. Kurt take advantage with a triple german suplex. He misses the Angle Slam, Sting misses the Deathlock, and Angle locks in the Ankle lock, but Sting rolls it through. Sting hit's a power bomb. He hit's a Scorpion Deathdrop, but Morgan distracts the ref, and hits Sting. He walks into an Angle Slam.
Winner: Kurt Angle
