Tips For Buying Proper Boxing Gear

Boxing is such a great sport to get into, even if you are not thinking about going into it on a professional level. There are different classes and programs you can go into that fit the level of your ability. However, one thing that can be frustrating when starting out is finding the right equipment. In this article, we will help you to find everything you are looking for.

There is so much to choose from in terms of pads and name brands, you will find yourself asking, "Just where do I start?" The first thing to think of is protection. This is especially important for beginners because they can be injured early on and then are out for the rest of the year.

You should be aware that there is different equipment for different types of boxers including children, women, and adult men. It is important to find the right kind of equipment for your body type as it is the only thing that will keep you safe out there besides your moves.

The more important equipment safeguards your fragile areas, and the areas that you will use the most. Boxing headgear is the most crucial piece of equipment for beginners because it protects a vital area as it can aid in protecting your temples and brain.

Boxing gloves are also very important, as you will be using your hands a lot. Boxing gloves come in a number of different styles and sizes, so when you are visiting your sporting equipment store, ask someone that knows something about boxing to help you find the right size. Price is not always the best way to tell if you are getting quality equipment.

Boxing shoes are also a necessity to your gear. A good pair of shoes can set you above the rest. Make sure the grip is good, because that will only make you a better mover in the ring. Shoes can be pricey so try to find a good quality pair, but do not pay too much especially when you are just starting out, as you will go through shoes pretty fast in the beginning.

If you want to find out more about equipment from people that know more about boxing equipment specifically, then you will want to go to a boxing equipment store. It is a good idea to go to a specific store anyways because you will get such a larger variety of gear to choose from.

A Short History of Squash

By: Edward Smith | 08/11/2009
Squash historians assert that the game originated in the 19th century at Harrow School, just outside London, as a derivative of the game of Racquets. The first recorded construction of purpose-built squash courts was at Harrow in the 1860s. It is possible that earlier squash courts were created at Harrow by sub-dividing a racquets court, which is almost exactly the size of three Squash courts (to allow more players on the courts at the same time).
