Cornhole is a fun game that can be played by people of all ages and abilities and is totally addicting. The game is best played outdoors although it can be played indoors if you have enough space. It is basically a beanbag toss like the kind you find at fairs and carnivals but adapted for use at home.
Cornhole toss game is played using two cornhole boards and four bags filled with corn for each player or playing team. The boards are positioned approximately 30 feet apart from each other and players throw from in between them. Players throw the bags at each of the cornhole boards and try to make them into the holes at either end. Points are scored when the bag lands somewhere on the board or in the hole on the board. Bags that land on the board get one point and bags that land in the hole get three points. You can play by yourself, with two people or with teams.
Playing cornhole toss is very similar to playing the game of horseshoes, but it is safer and easier to learn. There are many advantages of cornhole over horseshoes which you may appreciate especially if you have kids that want to play. The great thing about the game is that the cornhole bags are safe and kid friendly. Kids cannot get hurt by flying cornhole bags like they can with horseshoes. Because horseshoes can be very dangerous and have even been known to cause injuries cornhole makes a great alternative.
Cornhole boards are portable so you can easily store them in your garage or other space when you are finished playing. Horseshoes require permanent stakes and sand pits to play, which can be an eyesore in any yard. Many people love to the game of horseshoes but they don't play it often because they don't want to put in sand pits and stakes in their yard. Cornhole is a good alternative if you love to play horseshoes but don't want to install the equipment in your yard. You can put cornhole boards and bags away when you are done playing and do not have to leave them out in your yard.
Cornhole is referred to by many different names including hillbilly horseshoes, baggo, bean bag toss, and cornhole toss. No matter what you call it the principal is the same and it is a great game for anyone who wants to have some fun and competition oudoors.
Cornhole is usually an outdoor game because it requires two large boards that need to be spread about 30 feet apart, however, if you have enough space indoors it can also be played there without fear of damaging anything because the bags are soft. Although cornhole has many similarities to horseshoes it is a better choice for many people because it is safe, easy to play, and portable. If you love horseshoes you should try cornhole and may want get a set of boards and bags so you can play the game of cornhole toss whenever you want.
