Why Should You Attend Lacrosse Recruiting Camps?

High school students who play lacrosse and are seeking a sports scholarship to the college of their choice would be well advised to attend several lacrosse recruiting camps throughout their high school years. Lacrosse recruiting camps are a great way to get seen by college lacrosse recruiting scouts, and they give you an opportunity to explore your potential new college home before making any commitments.

College lacrosse recruiting scouts attend recruiting camps. By searching the college website for the lacrosse department, you can discover which coaches and lacrosse recruiting scouts will be attending which lacrosse recruiting camps, and thus make sure that you participate at the ones with scouts from the colleges where you wish to attend.

You will have the opportunity at lacrosse recruiting camps to play full games in front of the coaching staff from several colleges, and this will give you a great chance to show them how you play and what you can do not only for the immediate needs of your high school teammates but also what you could bring to their college teams.

Coaches will also be observing how well you interact and get along with other team members, and how you handle the stress of a game situation. Everyone wants to work with someone who is easy to get along with, so you will want to show the lacrosse recruiting coaches that you are that person.

In addition to the fun of playing games, you will also be able to attend special training events at lacrosse recruiting camps. This gives you a great chance to see how the coaches work with students, and you will begin to make your initial impression of if you will grow as a player under their tutelage. It also shows college lacrosse recruiting staff how quickly you pick up new ideas and how you interact with the coaches and take instruction from them.

Another advantage that comes from attending a camp is that in between lacrosse recruiting events you might be able to catch the college team playing a game or practicing. You can explore how they play together, and what you could bring to the team as its newest member. Camps held in conjunction with college lacrosse recruiting events also let you stay on campus, eat the food, and see for yourself what living on campus is like. There are many college lacrosse recruiting events scheduled each year, so be sure to take part in as many as you can.
