There are demands in life and sometimes it becomes too overpowering that we may need assistance in coping and if people are adding to it, we have to stand up and assume control of our life. Expectation is usual and affirmative stress can broaden us but when you succumb to people expectation or difficult people, it is detrimental to your health and you have to learn to cope.

Handle people expectation well and put it to them nicely so as not to upset them but be firm in handling difficult people. Let go of negative feelings immediately and do not carry any emotional baggage. There are difficult people in all places and at work, deal with it positively and do not bring the negative feelings home as it will add to the stress.

The feeling of being taken advantage of by someone you know or a stranger will be hard on you but do not store the negative thoughts and learn to cope with difficult people to get your job done and move on. Try to distance away from the people that make your life difficult but to completely eliminate them is not feasible so make known your feelings and stand up for it. Moving on and ahead is evidence that you are dealing positively with difficult people.

For coping with difficult people at work, you have to draw a clear distinction between work and private life. For instant if you are dealing with your manager, if their request is not related to your job, there is no obligation to abide by unless it is a personal favor. Be clear in what you do and if there is a need to explain, do so with discretion. Make the channel of communications open and remove any doubts, as that is one way to deal with difficult people and issues.

Value your co-worker and the issue of having to cope with difficult people will hardly ever materialize. If a person have an axe to grind and keep making life difficult for you, then it is a different matter or the issue of coping with difficult people is much simpler as different people have different demands. Learn to deal with the issue instantly and divorce the issue from the person concern and everything will be lighter. Coping with difficult people in general and at work is a learning experience that you can improve once you get the hang of it.
