Internet is cluttered with information of how to control stress and how to cope with stress and issues relating to it. However there is very less information as to the real cause of stress and how to eliminate stress permanently. We are trying to give medicine to the symptoms without diagnosing the real cause of the problem. For affective stress management it is better to find out the real cause of the stress so that effective stress relief measures can be taken.
WE are combination of body, mind, emotion and life energy. Our life is, result of combined activity of these four portions within you. We are all aware that we work with our body, think with our mind, and act on emotions. However life energies are intuitive and constantly signal us for higher activity. Life energies mirror your true and original nature. Our performance of any task depends on how organized our body, mind, emotions and life energies at any given point of time.
A car runs smoothly when four wheels of the car is aligned properly. If there is any improper alignment among these four wheels, it affects the performance of car. When the four components of our life, works in unity and coordination our capacity enhances substantially and we become stress free. Our work turns effortless as there is no friction or improper alignment among these four sections within us.
We can understand it well with illustration. Tom is very passionate about singing. Whenever he sings his happiness touches the peak. However he settled as engineer as it is giving lucrative pay and other financial benefits. However at the end of the day he is not happy and always feels that he is missing something in life. His life thus is, result of inappropriate alignment or friction between his original passion and his existing work which leads to stress. It is reported that unhappiness and job dissatisfaction is major risk factors of heart disease.
Examination of extra ordinary people and their super performance, (super athletes, singers, martial arts experts) reveals that they are able to manipulate and generate higher energies. It is possible only by aligning and harmonizing the body, mind, emotions and energies. Even 24 hours of work does not deter their courage or exhaust their energy. They are always energetic and fear less. In this state proper alignment among four components within you, there would not be any friction or stress. They are very poise, serene and calm in their activities.
Affective stress management requires achieving unity among four components within you. Your thoughts, emotions, words and deeds must work in agreement. We have to reduce the stress consciously by undertaking various life style changes to get stress relief. You consider my own example. I have given up my top Government job and started proceeding according to my real interests. Now a day I am really enjoying my life.
The statistics suggest that stress and anxiety disorders are one of the top health problems today. All the other diseases including heart attracts are resulting in stress and anxiety directly or indirectly. Chronic stress could interfere with the normal function of the body's immune system. Stress often prompts people to respond in unhealthy life style such as smoking, drinking alcohol and wayward life, which causes damage to the entire body system.
Here are 6 proven small life style changes to get rid of stress and anxiety.
1. First life style change essential for total transformation is following your passion. Do what gives happiness to you. Listen to your inner voice and follow your bliss.
2. Life balancing activities: 80 percentage of our body is, water and therefore take at least 60 percent of water rich foods like vegetables and fruits. Balance your life with one third of time on sleeping, one third of time on working and one third of time on recreation. Listen to music. Music influences physical body.
3. Do not try to change others. Change yourself. This is a fundamental principle in relationship building. Relationships and social activities bring vitality and revive your spirit of life.
4. Meditation: It is all in one pill for all the problems of modern life. Meditation is to the mind what exercise is to the body. In prayer you talk to the God, while in meditation you experience the God within you.
6. Body massages: Skin is biggest source of hormones and immune cells. Experiences of touch of the body have healing effect. It is also proven that the massage of child by mother affects child body.
6. Regular exercise: Exercise should be moderate, regular and enjoyable. Regular walking or swimming helps body to improve immunity.
Stress management or stress relief is equal to achieve unity within you. Your parts become whole. You achieve grace and charm. Your mind is free from stress and achieves complete stress relief. This self transformation brings more efficiency and creativity in your life.
