Talk When You Want

It’s one of those days when nothing seems to go right.

You have the worst hangover. There’s no more hot water in shower. You’re running late for work and you can’t find parking. Your boss woke up on the wrong side of the bed and is putting you through your own private hell. And to top it off, your boyfriend broke up with you two weeks before your sister’s wedding and you need a date to the event.

Or you are the top student in your class and no one really likes to hang out with you because you are too smart. Today is especially bad because you aced a test that everybody else failed and of course, everybody hates you for it. You called your best friend but she did not pick up because she’s at dance class and oh, she’s going out with the girls later. People just don’t want to be friends with you for one reason or another.

You want someone to talk to but everyone cannot be bothered as they have a flight to catch or they have luncheons and dinners to go to. Your so called best friend is out with her boyfriend or other friends. Your mom is busy with your little sister and anyway, you are old enough to figure out whatever it is that’s bothering you.

It’s one of those times when you just need to talk to someone. Sometimes, pouring your heart out to a stranger helps. A total stranger will not judge you for who you are and what you do (or did) and you don’t have to pretend to be okay. A total stranger who will listen to your ramblings about how unfair life is and how things unfold exactly the opposite of how you want them to be. A total stranger who can be there to talk when you want to. Let it all out.
