Vitamin C

Vitamin C is found in citrus fruits as well as green leafy vegetables and orange ones such as carrots. Many people don’t get enough of this vitamin unless they make a special effort to consume those foods. Taking a vitamin C supplement will help your body to fight off colds and other viruses, because it builds up your immune system. Calcium

Calcium is essential for building strong, healthy bones, and it is especially important for women and children. Calcium is also needed to help your body synthesize lots of other minerals and vitamins. If you are concerned that you might not be getting enough calcium from the dairy products you consume, then a calcium supplement is a good option.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an essential vitamin. It helps your hair and skin to retain its elasticity, and helps you to maintain a youthful appearance. It also helps other bodily tissues such as the heart and arteries, and can therefore help to prevent some types of heart disease. It can even help prevent cancer. You can take vitamin E in the form of pills or oil.

B Group Vitamins

The B group of vitamins includes folic acid, which is helpful for prevention of certain birth defects. It is therefore important for any woman who is of child bearing age. Vitamin B is helpful in aiding the body to process other vitamins and the nutrients in the food you eat.

If you want to improve your general state of health, or to lose weight, then vitamin supplements can benefit you. Often people get caught up with the idea of exercise and counting calories, and don’t consider enough the variety of food or the types of food they are including in their diet. You can support a healthy program for losing weight by taking supplements, and thereby ensure that you are getting the nutrients you body requires in order to be fit and healthy.
