Urinary tract infections or UTI are very common. Women are more susceptible to getting an infection because they have a shorter urethra than men and can get bacteria into the urinary tract more easily.

But in men UTI can also lead to a prostate infection. This is more difficult to cure and you will definitely need to get your doctor involved if this happens as it is difficult to cure a prostate infection with antibiotics as many of them do not penetrate the infected prostate tissue.

Whenever you suspect a urinary tract infection you need to deal with it as quickly as possible. As seen above, it can turn into a prostate infection or it can also migrate up into the kidneys causing a kidney infection which is much more dangerous than a urinary tract infection.

The most common cause of UTI is when bacteria from the rectum or the vagina enters the urinary tract through the urethra. Once this bacteria enters into the urethra it travels upward into the bladder or other parts of the urinary tract causing an infection. Waiting too long before urinating can also cause bladder infections. The bladder can be stretched too far and over time will weaken the bladder muscle causing the bladder to retain and not empty out completely. Some of the urine is then left in the bladder and may be a risk in causing urinary tract infection or bladder infection.

Symptoms of urinary tract infections are:

An urge to urinate that cannot be delayed

A sharp pain or burning sensation in the urethra when urinating

Urgency with very little urine released

Urine may have blood in it

Pain in the lower abdomen or back

If you have a kidney infection instead, you may experience back pain, chills, fever, nausea and vomiting as well as the UTI symptoms.

How to treat urinary tract infection using natural remedies:

1. The number one rule in treating UTI is to drink lots of water. This will help flush the bacteria out of your bladder and urinary tract.

2. Avoid eating dairy products and chocolate. You should also avoid spicy foods, carbonated drinks, alcohol and coffee.

3. D-mannose, a simple sugar and similar to glucose, cures UTI about 90 percent of the time in only one to two days. It is a little expensive but convenient to use.

4. Cranberry juice is an old staple in curing urinary tract infection. It is probably the most well known remedy. When using cranberry juice be sure to get 100% unsweetened cranberry juice. One way to deal with the tartness is to dilute the juice in water as you need to drink a lot of water anyway.

These natural remedies should resolve your problem. If they don't, you should seek help from your medical care provider.

Can mold from hay that causes farmers lung show up as a mass in chest on cat scan
By: kelly | 20-08-2008
would farmers lung cause a mass to show up on lungs in center area of chest on cat scan. My nephew has been sick for a month and all cancers have been ruled out. He has a fever all the time of between one hundred five at worse to one hundred two at best, he is on tylenol to control the fever. He is very fatiqued, no appetite, aches alot, night sweats, a catch when he breathes in in chest, a mass shows on cat scan in center of his chest the size of a golf ball. They sent him home from childrens hospital waiting more test results. They don't have a clue what they are doing and he is getting weaker and sicker. He was exposed to high amounts of hay blown in the air during a construction of the road out front of their house. This caused a cloud of dust that I'm sure contained hay molds that clouded the houses and street. Everyone breathed it in but he was the only one to get sick, within days of this happening. I think he has farmers lung but I haven't read where that can cause the mass to show up on cat scan. Is this possilbe. thanks.

It is my belief that one of the major causes of candida infections is the use, or overuse, of antibiotics. Because my mother was not told that the antibiotics would destroy the beneficial flora in my gut, I have spent most of my life since then with digestive disorders, yeast infections as well as a plethora of other health problems related to candida overgrowth.

People who get eczema usually have a family history of allergies or asthma. Though the cause of eczema is still unknown, there are indications that it might be linked to an over-reactive immune system. It is possible that when the body comes into contact with allergens in the air or on the skin, the immune system overreacts to these allergens causing inflammation and irritation of the skin.
