The Lexus RX 400h was introduced in 2006 as the world’s first hybrid-powered luxury crossover SUV. It is a fuel efficient, environmentally conscious version of its popular counterpart, the Lexus RX 350. It has the same sleek style that you would expect from Lexus, but is a gasoline/electric powered hybrid crossover SUV. While gas prices continue to rise, the hybrid-powered Lexus RX 400h boasts excellent fuel economy, increased horsepower, and fewer emissions. Buying a hybrid vehicle has tax benefits as well, and may qualify you for up to $3,000 in tax credits.
The 2008 Lexus RX 400h averages around 27 miles to the gallon in town, and 24 miles to the gallon on the highway. It is environmentally friendly and has been certified as a Super Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle, with 70% fewer smog-forming emissions than newer vehicles. Lexus has beautifully combined the electric and gas powered motors by utilizing an electronically controlled, continuously variable transmission for a nice smooth ride.
If you are looking for more than just fuel efficiency in a hybrid vehicle, be sure to put the Lexus RX 400h on your list. It is available in two trims, front wheel and all wheel drive, both come with standard features such as dual zone climate control, power front and back row seating, and an air filtration system. Luxury options including voice activation DVD Navigation system with backup camera, heated front seats, and rear DVD entertainment system simply add to the appeal.

Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid Review - the Pros and Cons
By: Craig F Stevens | 13/09/2008 | TrucksTrucks don't usually tend to make the best hybrids, their large engines and very heavy bodies mean that their gas mileage is notoriously low, and it's difficult to keep the essence of the vehicle and still be able to improve that. People who want a truck typically want something with good towing capacity, power, and able to carry large loads.

By: Craig F Stevens | 13/09/2008 | SUVsA first look at the new Mazda Tribute Hybrid might have you asking where the ‘zoom-zoom’ is. It certainly isn’t in the outdated looks, lackluster acceleration, or even in the apathetic braking. In fact, the 2008 Tribute Hybrid actually shares a lot more ‘built tough’ qualities with its Ford sibling, the Escape, than it does with the otherwise svelte Mazda lineup.

By: Craig F Stevens | 13/09/2008 | SUVsThe 2009 GMC Yukon Hybrid has been described as “impressive”, “stunning” and “magnificent” by both reviewers and owners. They’re not talking about the Yukon Hybrid’s performance, amenities or looks, although all are average or above. They’re talking, instead, about the fuel economy figures they see with this hefty hybrid. Both of GM’s 2009 full-size SUV hybrid models, Yukon and Tahoe, feature the innovative, 2-mode hybrid system, introduced in 2008.
Ford Escape Hybrid Review - the Pros and Cons
By: Craig F Stevens | 13/09/2008 | SUVsFirst released in 1994, the Ford Escape hybrid is a gas-electric alternative to Ford Motor Company’s original SUV. It is the first automobile to unite the full capacity of a sport utility vehicle with the great benefits of a hybrid, which include excellent fuel economy and low environmental effects. It is similar in body and features to the earlier Escape, but is distinguished by its “Hybrid” symbol located in the rear. The vehicle’s most appealing feature is its fuel economy.
