Australia's Guide To Space

One of the most fascinating things to observe is Australia's interest in outer space.  Of course, some may just want to write this off as part of Australia's adventurous nature (the National Space Society of Australia or NSSA, for example, aims to “assist in bringing about a time when ordinary people have the opportunity to work and live in space”), but others cannot help but realize that creating a space program for Australia may actually be beneficial for that particular country.  Their government, for example, acknowledged late last year that funding a space program that is wholly Australian just may help push Australia into a more competitive position in terms of technological development and innovation.  This is in fact a very valid point, for what else can motivate a person to achieve than the chance to reach the stars (literally and figuratively)?

Taking a vested interest in space research just may open new and better possibilities for Australians.  It is no longer enough that near Canberra, Australia is one of NASA's Deep Space antennas.  If one takes the time to observe, more and more Australians are far more interested in making their own mark in the world's history of space research.  Australians have big dreams for the world in general, especially in the context of space travel and possible space colonization.  Australians recognize the potential of seeing outer space as not just something to observe, but also something that could benefit humanity at large.

Of course, any progress that an Australian space agency may make would probably be a significant advancement in the field of space exploration.  This may mean that they could also potentially make discoveries that would help life here on earth become much easier.  Outer space, many of us believe, is the future, and in some ways, that may be proving to be true nowadays.  Now, we can simply hope that all the progress that we wish for ourselves will come to pass.
