Noise Barriers Delivers Superior Sound Reduction

Noise pollution is increasing with the dramatic increase in companies, heavy traffic, expanding industries, and residential supporting units like power stations and water treatment plants around the residential areas. Noise barriers are effective in reducing the impact of the noise pollution through different techniques and their combinations.

When noise barriers are required?
The primary purpose of the noise barriers is to mitigate the amount of noise pollution caused by various factors such as reducing the noise levels from the constant stream of traffic. When government, companies, business owners, contractor, or individual residents feels that the noise generated is unbearable or a need to reduce the noise levels is required then noise barriers are used.

How do they work?
There are two types of noise barriers -absorptive barriers and reflective barriers. As the name indicates absorptive barriers absorb the noise that strikes them and the reflections are negligible, where as the reflective barriers redirect the noise that strikes them i.e. increases the distance that sound must travel to the listener and essentially they do not reduce the noise. For effective results, noise barriers should be tall to block the noise and placed in the right location.

What type of materials used?

Different materials are used to construct noise barrier. Most commonly used materials include wooden, concrete and vinyl. Vinyl is considered as a better material compared to other types. Effectiveness to reduce the sound transmission depends on the chosen material, height of the barrier, and the location of the installation.

Areas of the usage
Noise barriers are useful in reducing the unbearable noise that is resulted from roads, railroad tracks, and industrial areas. They are proven effective not only in reducing the noise generated by the heavy traffic but also found applicable in variety of areas like transformer & electrical sub-stations, oil & gas industry - pipeline, treating, & processing, water treatment plant, airports, heavy commercial or manufacturing units, and also in residential areas.

Constant heavy noise can spoil the ambiance in a locality intolerably. In organizations, heavy noise affects the productivity of employees. Exposure to constant heavy noise has many bad effects on health and is proved by science. Installing noise barriers is a great solution to reduce unwanted noise and increase the quality of living or serve the industrial purposes.
